Where did Leia's accent go?

About 1/3 of the way through ANH, she loses her British accent. What's up with that?

I always felt that she was using her "diplomat" voice when talking to the Imperials.

She jokes about going in and out of an English accent in some documentary I saw recently.

I think Obi Wan's wig evolution is more inexplicable. It is different in virtually every scene and sometimes within scenes themselves. What's up with that!
