U.S. Divers Co. buckle question

I noticed both of the modern replica versions of the U.S. divers buckle I have do not seem to get a good "bite" on the seat belt style webbing... that leaves me to wonder, are the vintage ones better?

I'd assume the vintage has more of a bite only because they needed to be practical and hold actual diving weight, and the replicas need to look pretty.

Ya I agree, just hope they do. Which type do you have?

Nice. The replicas barely touch the webbing when they are closed so they move out of adjustment very easy.
