Question about the left gauntlet "rocket"...

In the current canon, IS the left gauntlet rocket actually a rocket that's launched, or whistling birds like Mando has on his armor?

It shoots little lasers out of the holes

Lasers. Now I'm going have to go watch Jedi again. :) I saw one costumer lit their Boba rocket with what looked like a WB light kit.

As others have said, in the OT it shot lasers out of the holes on the cone. However, in one of the latest trailers it appears that it is a Rocket that shoots off. The part in The Book of Boba Fett is based off of our V2 Gauntlet Rocket (brass). Unfortunately I didn't have the V3's done in time for it to make it into the show. :(

Okay, secondary question. is the flame thrower in the right or left gauntlet? I've seen some pictures with what looks like FThrower parts on the left side of the "rocket" gauntlet, but Boba uses his right gauntlet in Mando Season 2 for grappling hook and flame thrower it appears.

The left gauntlet had a functional flamethrower in early development. However what made it on screen for both ESB and ROTJ never worked or was intended to work and are two different designs from what did actually work. Then for whatever reason they decided to make it a blaster in Mando and moved the flamethrower to the right gauntlet. That said we never see a flamethrower used in ESB or ROTJ, so maybe they intended the ROTJ flamethrower to be a blaster and it was just assumed to be a flamethrower based on the costumes history. Whatever that greeble is on the right gauntlet was never explained AFAIK so who knows.
