Starting my first Mando today

I have a question for you guys. Right now all i have is what is dispayed in the pictures below

What i need to know is, what should i do next. I think i know, the dome right? but how do i do that? hmmmmm

and then its bondo glass time which i have no idea how to use

Can you tell its my first time?

u might think about going to target/walmart and grabbing a few cheap plastic trashcans too... Adonian, Ordeyn and Myself are all building out of trashcans and they usually turn out well if u're willing to stick it out through the heating, and shaping, and cooling... and possibly repeat. I would NOT try to make the gaunts or bu'cuy out of trashcan tho... the plastic's a lil bit too tough to do it easily.

Make the dome using the WOF templates, VERY carefully. Cut ON the lines, which should leave you with three dome sections. Next, tape between each of the horizontal lines on the exterior (yes, on the OUTSIDE), starting on the bottom and working your way up. Then, once all three parts are complete, tape them together, again going between the horizontal lines.

After that, as a bonus, I super tape the top of the dome-where all the points meet-inside and out, as that area is weakest.

Then set your dome inside of the helmet, overlapping the cross-hatched lines into the helmet rim. Tape in securely, then bondglass the exterior.

That's exactly how I made mine, and I finally printed an 80% size to make for my 9 year old boy, so gotta get to work on that too.

Mix it porperly, then shlop it on with a bondo spreader, smooth as best you can to begin with, then let it dry for a few hours, then mask up and sand. and sand and sand and sand and sand... then another layer and sand and sand and sand and sand etc etc etc. you get the gist.

I'll admit......... I dont ware one, and its really STUPID of me, I gotta go to the DEPOT and get one, I just pull my shirt over my nose and mouth, but it's not good enough.

That is about it...but actually, if you over mix the hardener slightly you can get it to dry in about 15 minutes. Then for the sand, sand, sand...:wacko

And yes, wear a mask!!! I didnt at first, and the cough lasted almost a month...

*** dude... it's FIBERGLASS!!! u know... small shards of sharp crystaline material that you DON'T WANT IN YOUR LUNGS! I'd hate to see the microscopic damage done... the fumes are dangerous too btw... something to do with nerve damage...lol
