FWIW. Here are 3 photos from the PoC exhibit that I took when it was in Seattle last year.
They were taken with a 50mm fixed focal length lens and a DSLR;.
These are the only Fett shots i got..not very good...i willget more next time, and its very hard to tell the size of that ball on the Thruster..i realize now maybe using my hand to get a relative size and then doing the same next to one of my Thrusters may have helped, but its very hard to convey in photographs what i saw there in front of me.

THANK YOU for those! You can really see it there i think! especially in the left photo. Look at the size of them! lol Again still hard to convey an actual measurement.
...and how did you manage to use a flash? they wouldnt let anyone in with a good camera and were very strict about no flash here. :/
Those were just available light shots without flash. I brought the 50mm lens for low light situations. Also the 50mm lens is small and doesn't look all that impressive so no one said anything.
Wow nice. thats the kind of shots i want to get. My wfe has the same camera...i may be able to borrow that type of lens and get that camera in next time
There's only one way to settle this, we've got to break in there and steal it. A good, old fashioned heist. We're going to need a man on the inside. Who's in?

LMAO! oh man you guys crack me up! hahaha! I can just see the security footage of 5 Boba Fetts busting in with a tote and swapping out parts on the mannequin and disappearing lol!
I actually bought some 3" clear plastic gift Balls, actually they were 80mm.. so they are 3.1496062992125986" lol...a little larger than 3" but they seem to be too big. So im gonna try and find a true 3" ball..and a 2.75" size. One of those has to be the magic number lol
I am 100% sure that they are larger than 2.5" ..how much larger im not sure yet.
Keep up the quest I am thinking they are more 3'' just eye balling it...who knows, I can only think its a bit like Chinese whispers with measuring and measuring over the years who knows whats been lost in translation with the original costume to what we have now? I wonder if ILM have herd of the Dented Helmet and would kindly let someone in to the archive room with a tape measure and document the thing from scratch......that's a pipe dream of course... anyone from ILM reading this that would be great
Yea although the ones on my kits dont look disproportionate, after going to the exhibit i could clearly see they were larger than the 2.5" ones i made. So the quest will continue! lol
Ok i got in a 2.75" metal ball..its a hello kitty gift ball lol ...hey it was 3 bucks and the right size i was looking for lol.....but i think the 2.75 is the size im looking for. I'll snap picks when i get a chance.
Once im certain i want to use this size, I will convert a cast of this into the thuster ball and make new ones that will eventually be included in the kits. I'll aslo offer them as stand alone items if anyone wants to upgrade to the slightly larger Thuster balls lol.
Just get someone in an ROTJ costume to get up there and stand real still. WE make a speedy exit, stage left and get the hell out of there with the Lucasfilm costume. Take measurements, pics, molds, and then bring it on back.
Dude acting like a mannequin better have a camel back in his JP. And maybe a catheter![h=3][/h]
