Update on my Jetpack. Got it primed in white. Masked off the first sections. Airbrushed the silver 11. Applied the silver damage to the pack. Airbrushed 3 coats of blue 109. Also painted silver 11 on the top section of the rocket and white 34 on the bottom. Let this dry and proceed to the next colors yellow and translucent red for the rocket.

Did you eyeball the damage or are there stencils ? Also why did you choose white prime instead of gray. Does it matter ?

I did both eyeball and DVH’s stencil. I am using Terminal Fettlers paint list from his Finished! Bobamaker Jet pack ROTJ se paint up WIP. He used white primer. There are elements of white in the damage that will show through after I put in some scratches.

Did some slight weathering on the blue. Re masked and layered silver and then airbrushed the yellow. Then airbrushed a slight clear yellow to darken it. Also airbrushed clear red on the top half of the rocket

Made some major progress on my Jetpack. Got the White and Red done and some slight weathering. Need to spray in the black band on the main fuselage. Paint on the symbols. Scratches and some more shades of weathering. Need to finish the thrusters and rocket. But here is a couple pics of my progress.

Sneak peak of the repaint. These are shots before weathering. The left is the repaint. I think I got it. I used Tru-Color Paint Rock Island Maroon.

When you did this repaint, did you leave the first color on and paint over it, or did you strip it first or prime back over it. The end result was good. Just curious of it would have looked different if you put the rock island maroon on with out this color there first, if it would look different.

I didn't fully strip it to primer silver layer. I how ever sand it down a bit. Then re painted. And topically painted the silver damage.

Cool. I did start with a silver layer then a black layer to give the red depth. But I used the wrong red the first go around. I don’t know how much the first red effected the final red. The really effects the pictures from natural to led etc.

I'm going to try the Rock Island maroon on black, another with clarinet wine on black, I also have some british crimson i want to try maybe with the clarinet wine over it. Lots of paint testing this weekend. Want to finish it up so I can move on to the jetpacks

My ROTJ SE PROMO Jetpack is done minus some of the greeblie connectors and a seal coat. I’m super happy the way it turned out for my first Jetpack paint up. ManofWarStudios Jetpack, MachineCraftReplicas Beacon and Stabilizer

its beautiful. Just curious, I know the SE weathering and damage is different from the hero, but it it more or less damage?

Thanks. Yah there is a few differences like some of the symbols missing from wear. One of of the thruster buttons is missing too.

Oh wow I didn’t know that. Didn’t even realize. It’s funny because the pack I inherited was missing one of those thrusters buttons, it also had the wrong rangefinder like the SE version. I guess the guy who had it before me was an SE and didn’t even know it. I just thought the button got lost and he ordered the wrong rangefinder.

Yah there are several versions of the SE. Screen and 2 Promo shoots. I using one of the Promo shoots. Those pics that I am following are in the gallery under special edition. Also some in the exhibit AOSW pics.
