ROTJ Boba Fett Build Thread - the journey begins ....

I am way late to this party!!! Loving this thread and your video updates! Can't wait to see the Boba Maker stuff!

I'm not a expert on ROTJ but I think the lighter hip pouch should be more light beige as a base, similar to a light kakhi.
No problem starting with white though, just mist it with some paint or give it a coffee bath.

This is the 501 CRL photo, they describe it as "off-white" in the text but the photos tell the story better.

Will be ordering NEW shoes (again) from WASTED FETT in June

Did WastedFett confirm he's doing a run this summer? That would be amazing, as I'm in the same boat.

Wasted Fett never wrote me back, so I am still without shoes.

But my armor from BOBA MAKER came in, I had to try on as much as I could. There's going to be a whole lot more questions coming like how do I tie the girth belt? How do I attach the cape! AND WHERE DO I GET SHOES!!!! (ha ha ha)

So here are my new gauntlets

Someone pointed out that my "RIGHT ONE" has the wrong toggles? WHAT?

"If switches are used, they are push-button style, not toggle switches."

Is this an easy fix?

MojoTurbo
Indeed! A very easy fix. You can buy these switches easily and buying both should cost less than $20.00. I think I paid around $14.00 for both of mine. Here's a link to an eBay listing:
eBay Link for Alco Switch

Or if you wanna search for em', you'll wanna look for: Alco MPA106D SPDT ON-ON

But this is what you're after I think....

Good hunting!

Awesome!
Should be pretty straight forward. Just the unbolting the existing one that BM gave you and installing the new ones. You may even be able to reuse the BM nuts if the thread matches up on em' as those appear to be weathered.

(y)

Not much to report ... final payment made to Boba maker - he is shipping me my jetpack and scuba harness. Also waiting on shoes to arrive as a special order (this is pair #3)

Then it's paint gun, paint shoes, weather cape and attach, drill holes in armor codpiece to fit my waist and we're done

I've started talking "casually" to my local 501st garrison, they want me to speak to their armorer to discuss my costume, but I think I am at the point that if they don't accept me ... I'll just not pursue it further

* they want me to join a "detachment" namely the Bounty Hunters Guild for approval? What's that like? They look super picky especially with Boba Maker's paint jobs ... now I am scared

** Yea, on BHG I see a lot of criticism for the gauntlet paint job I have, the shin tools need to be white with orange stripes, the center decal on the chest plate needs to be silver .....

Well the detachment does not approve member's costumes (unless you are going for level 2 certification)
They offer a pre-approval program, which is just a peer-review and is not required for costume submission.
Basic approval is handled by your garrison's GML(s) with their standard application process, it's their call.

I mean ... looking at the 501st, it appears as though you can just submit directly to 501 with no middle man, no hoops to jump through.
But I am worried that I'll need to repaint my gauntlets.
