RichardJones's ROTJ Animefan Paint/Build

I'll take your word for it. I know very little about this helmet scheme. How did you get the caboose so easily? I managed to secure just one bottle in over a year!

There is no doubt about it, the color list for the ROTJ is tough.

I was trying to remember what I mixed to get the caboose color............I know I never found the actual color.

I'd also be interested in how you snagged caboose, or any floquil colors for that matter? Your lid looks great so far too!

I used Jayvee's paint list for the whole helmet. The upper cheeks are Tamiya XF17,misted with MM Schwartzgrun RLM 70. Both acrylic. I think I misted too much Schwartzgrun, which lightens the overall color. It should be an easy fix.
Yeah mate, the misting of the Schwartzgrun should be really subtle. A bit more misting with the Tamiya should get them right where you want them :)

Thanks, I plan to do alittle misting tonight and make the cheeks a bit darker. I plan to get rid of some of the silver damage there too.

I've masked off the gray and silver damage on the red mandibles, just have to wait on the caboose to arrive.
FYI - this is the caboose I ordered, hopefully I got it right. ..

I got some weathering on, painted the arrows and stuck in the borden temporarily. I have the silver masked and some gunmetal 53 laid down on the ears. Once the ears are done i will hit every thing with a nice Humbrol satin cote...

I really like your painting skills and color choices. The helmet looks perfect! Keep up the great work!
Thank you, I owe alot to you and Jayvee for paving the way! Also having an airbrush and proper enamel paints makes a huge difference over rattlecans I've used in the past. Still so much to do. ..

I threw on a black acrylic wash( still wet in the photos), a satin clear coat and have the ears mounted... I think I am basically finished with the exterior, besides installing the MM dental files. Time to start on the interior..
