Jet Pack Pre-orders opened up for Anovos jetpacks

Its gotta be at least 24-25 kits. It honestly is/was probably closer to 50+ kits in total if we adjust for those that aren't members here and average production run size numbers for something like this. Their JP kit was very well priced comparatively and that doesn't even include the fact its 3D scanned from an original pack and true to size, even if the rocket is the wrong style one for ESB/ROTJ. I know a couple people who definitely ordered one but haven't posted.
That weight sounds about right for the blaster. My hero spec ROTJ foundparts build only weights about 5lbs. Troop with that thing all the time no prob. At least they're giving a semi-realistic delivery date of March 2020 for it, though I'm willing to bet it still gets delayed given that ANOVOS seems to have dropped right back off the map again now that Celebration is over.

If you guys aren't asking your credit card companies to put in a claim/fraud you should.

I know guys who are asking for refunds to be completely blown off. It literally takes 4 minutes to refund. Which leads me to believe they are in severe financial trouble.

Their new refund policy states:

"As an unintended consequence, cancelations of pre-orders caused a gradual shrinkage of overall production budget. Fewer pre-orders led to a number of issues including an increase in raw goods pricing, increase in per unit cost, a deprioritization of product (moving items to the back of manufacturing queue) and—in some extreme cases—the cancellation of items that no longer met the factory’s minimums. This not only elongated the manufacturing time for one project, but also other projects, causing a more systemic issue."

What bothers me is if too many people ask for refunds that they don't get made at all. We should start another count of who's asked for refunds lol.

That’s actually a good idea. If there’s too many refunds then I would be really scared to go ahead and keep my money with them. Especially since these jet packs were supposed to be release two months ago...

The original release date was end of last year. That was bumped to last winter slot ending March this year and now bumped again to the September to December 2019 slot. I wonder when it'll be bumped to next time.

Did Anovos email you an update with this time window? I never got one.

$40k  sheesh. I’m shocked that they’re still able to show up to conventions and smile in peoples faces.

Studios Sued Over Missing Cosplay Merchandise
A company that sells props and replicas of costumes from hit sci-fi franchises including Star Wars, Star Trek and Battlestar Galacticais being sued for fraud — along with the studios who gave the company permission to create the products — for allegedly not fulfilling presale orders.
A Louisiana man named Roger Dalton says he paid Anovos more than $40,000 for merchandise but never received it, according to a complaint filed Monday in California federal court. The items he ordered include a Star Trek Spock replica blue tunic, a Star Wars: The Force Awakens Kylo Ren costume with helmet and a $9,000 buildable replica of a starship. More than three years after his first purchase, having never received his products, Dalton read an explanation on the company's website. It said when products experienced production delays, some customers would cancel orders and fewer pre-orders led to an increase in the price of the raw materials and per-unit cost as well as cancellation of items that failed to meet the factory's minimums.
"Despite Anovos’ inability to fulfill the hundreds, if not thousands of pre-paid orders customers have already submitted, Anovos continues to market and sell pre-order items on its website and on social media in the same manner: requiring full upfront costs of the items in addition to shipping," writes attorney Joshua Swigart in the complaint, adding that the company in April instituted an "all sales are final" policy.
Disney, NBCUniversal and CBS are also defendants in Dalton's class action complaint, which estimates total damages will exceed $5 million. Dalton says the studios permitted Anovos to defraud consumers by renewing their licensing agreements with the companies.
The proposed class is currently defined as: "All consumers who paid for a pre-order product(s) from Anovos and licensed by Disney, NBCU, and/or CBS, and who have not received the product nor a refund from January 1, 2016, through the present."

I see someone has posted details of some sort filing of a suit against Anovos. This doesn't really help; I want a jetpack, not a lawsuit.
Seriously... I'd much prefer my kit over my money back, or likely nothing at all if they go bankrupt...
I dont blame people in the slightest. Anovos's continued poor practices and abrupt silence post Celebration are solely to blame here. Im still hoping they can somehow turn this around. The silence is stupid and they absolutley deserve the flak, but I really want them to succeed still, for better or worse

I feel the same way, I would also rather have the merchandise available to everyone !!
Love the pic....I almost jumped on that ship too...

I placed an order and paid in full for the jetpack when it was announced. Obviously I never got mine. After the first 6 months, I demanded a refund (which took about 3 more months of emails consisting of my inquiries, complaints and eventually lawsuit threats).
Finally got my money returned. I will never give them another dime. And it seems that soon they will be defunct anyway. It’s a shame because they had (what seemed to be) some great products. Oh well.

By the way, I ordered a MOW jetpack soon after. And received the kit in about a week. It actually cost less then Anovos and is fantastic. Should have just done that in the first place.

Got word from someone in the Minnesota Force crew that Disney renewed the contract w/ Anovos but I haven't seen any confirmation or articles about it. If this is the case I'm sure it's for a grip of cash and would assume Anovos would then be able to take care of the lawsuit rather swiftly. If anybody knows otherwise be sure to chime in, ahem *The Dent* lol

I have the MOW JP, and I must say I don't like it. It is so heavy compared to others I have seen and held. This was the whole reason I purchased the anovos JP

It is a bit heavy as is. I have recently replaced the thrusters and center missile with 3D printed pieces and it helped reduce the weight a bit. My pack is weighing in at around 7lbs. which is not too bad. Even with the electronics added it’s still pretty comfortable.

MOWs pack is a nice pack. It does have a bunch of inaccuracies, but if they dont concern you, it is a nice pack, very clean sculpt, great quality resin piece. The weight is because it is rotocast resin so it needs to be thicker than the lighter fiberglass ones. 7 pounds isnt too bad..i have not seen one lighter than 5ish pounds (unless it was a vac formed one)...so if you got it to 7 pounds, i'd say you did well!

All that said, the Anovos one was scanned from an original and would be the most accurate you can get, and made of fiberglass...so going with Anovos over MOW is really a good choice when thinking about accuracy and weight. However with all of these issues they have, i wouldnt reommend it. Hopefully you will get your Anovos one at some point and it'll be a great upgrade...at least you have a pack for now and can troop your Fett in full!

good luck on your journey of getting the Anovos pack!

I'm thinking that if they don't have it tweaked and upgraded by now, they never will.... Maybe that's part of the canned response they give everyone ??
I'm guessing that if anyone ever receives their pack, they could auction it to the highest bidder and make some good money !!! If anyone actually receives one ???
