*Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread

Welcome Sarim Thiri. This is a great place for all things Fett, Anything you need, just ask and I'm sure you'll get the information needed to point you in the right direction. Again welcome aboard. C

I probably should have done this as my FIRST post as opposed to my SIXTH, but logic was never my strong suit. ;)
Hi, my name is Liza Stacy, married to Paul (SithHappens, he only joined about 3 days ago). We live in SouthWest Florida, and are just getting started. We're going to do a Zam/Jango combo (2 bounty hunters for the price of one... what a deal!), and are still in the research and development stages of our costumes. Once we're done, we're going to try out for the 501st Florida Garrison, and see what happens from there. Well, I don't want to bore you all, so I'll leave it at that. Hope to talk to more of you soon. Take care. :zam

I'll say hello as well. I've been doing Star Trek and Klingon fandom since 1994 (which is my first love in fandom) but we thought we'd try branching out into other other areas of Sci-Fi as well. I figure all these years wearing Klingon gear should give me plenty of practice for what to expect with a Jango outfit in terms of comfort (or probably the lack of I'm sure).

Hello everyone! My name is Justin and I've been a life-long Star Wars fan since seeing ROTJ in the theaters at the ripe old age of 3. I was born in 1980 and ESB is my favorite film of all time (still trying to decide if that's a coincidence). Given that, I've just started a full-size ESB Vader display (well if a helmet and some shin armor counts as a start). However lately I find myself wandering off into the land of all things Boba Fett. The amount of information and amazing custom work here is inspiring and should prove an amazing resource. I'm glad I stumbled onto this place and look forward to all of the great Fett-inspired things to come!

- Justin

Greetings, everyone. A very nice website and community you have here!

Basic stats about me? I'm a 20 year old guy with a minimal budget and a huge love for everything Star Wars. ESB still holds place as my favorite film of the series.

I stumbled across this website while speaking of Mandalorian armor with my amazing girlfriend (who will hopefully join here in the future). Truth be told, as much as I like the Fetts, I'm more so after the general concepts of the Death Watch armor. What can I say? If she wants Mandalorian armor, I'd better craft it for her. ;)

I'm one of those somewhat strange guys that wants to create everything by hand. As such, I am most impressed with the various guides here regarding the creation of said costumes from scratch. I realize that this is a n00b question, but is there some master list of the most recommended guides for creating the various parts from scratch?

I look forward to getting to know you all and swapping information on recreations of this awesome armor/costume.

Hi

I'm Chris. I'm currently serving time in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, working as an Art Director/Graphic Designer for a marketing & PR firm. Yawn. The biggest, most noticable thing I've probably done was some work on a client's NASCAR sponsorship. Vehicle graphics, promotional tie-ins, furniuture built from car parts. That sorta thing. On the upside I work with an R2 fanatic.

I've been lurking around TDH for a while now and have really gotten the bug to work on my second set of armor. Granted my first set of Boba armor never really got finished and is on display in my home office. I kinda got sidetracked with getting married and never got back to it. However, I now want to do a custom set.

The one time I mentioned that the Boba costume was a good start and I'll know what to do better or different next time my wife responded with ..."WHAT!?!?!" I think she's recalling the mess I left in my old apartment after building the gauntlets and knees from sintra, wood, and epoxy putty.

I'm looking forward to the day my daughter wants me to build her a set of armor. I can hope, right.

I hope this is enough info.

Oh, and sice I have been asked in the past... my avatar is the ultrasound of my daughter with the Fett helmet added. To quote one of my wife's co-workers "That rangefinder is gonna hurt when she's born." Hence, Boba Fetus.

Well, I guess I might as well toss my 2 cents in =D

My name is Tom. I'm 29 and from a small town in western North Carolina, and that's pretty much where I'm at now. I'm the senior PC/network tech for a large cafeteria chain here in the south east, and also a partner in a private computer business on the side. My fascination with Mandalorians started when I saw ROTJ on the big screen back in the early 80's.

4 years ago I found myself playing Star Wars Galaxies and immersing myself in the character of a an old mandalorian from the pre-clone era. I was able to leave the game with 2 of the greatest treasures of my life; my girlfriend of 2.5 years and my character Novall Talon.

About a year ago I decided to put together my character's set of Mandalorian armor. It was a huge undertaking, mainly because I am a perfectionist when it comes to bringing my imagination to life.

I have met alot of wonderful people here on TDH, and I hope for it's continual success in the costuming community.

My amazing girlfriend, going by the name of Zannah, has signed up for an account here. She'll post when the holding period is over. Did I mention she's amazing? Please greet her warmly when she arrives, and show her respect so I don't have to kill you.

*Returns to researching jumpsuit materials for crafting her armor.*

Well, I'm new to the forums but I guess I'll go ahead and introduce myself.

My name is Rachael and I'll be 16 this August. I live in Mansfield, Texas and I'm a Junior(to-be) in high school. I'm in the band (play clarinet/piano/guitar/ukulele) and I'm in UIL Academics (social studies). I've loved Star Wars ever since I was a little one. I guess it really started when I began to collect the action figures in the second grade....but yeah I'm probably one of the biggest fans in the teen category..haha

I made a jedi costume last year for a Halloween party and I'm pretty proud of it! It took me a few months and I did the whole thing on my own. Right now I don't have a picture. I'm midway through my Fett but I don't have a job at the moment so that doesn't help my efforts.
I tried to pick a picture that best embodies my personality:

Hey everyone. It's been a long while since I've been around these forums so I figured I'd reintroduce myself. My name's Dan and I've been costuming for five years now. My main focus is Anakin Skywalker from Revenge of the Sith.

I was on these forums back in 2003-2004 when I was working on my custom Mandalorian:

I sold that suit in 2005 and have been kicking myself for it ever since so I decided to start working on a new dented variant. I look forward to sharing my progress in that forum in the future.

Wow dude, it is good to see you here.
I am very happy to see you are at a custom, or something different again though.
Your custom was great, and I can't wait to see what you do next.
Good luck!!!

Yes, I'm Dessel's girlfriend. 19, planning to major in Computer Science.

While I am fond of Star Wars, I spend more of my energy reading. Orson Scott Card, Dan Simmons, and the occasional Bradbury or Ellison, amongst other things.

Right now, my projects are concept art for a lightsaber and set of Femm Mando armor.

Su cuy'gar vode!

My name is Josue Ceron, I am 21 years old, I live about 20 min away from Los Angeles, CA. I'm a huge Mando'ade fan, I play SWG where I rp a Mando'ad named Cer'jo Aclos along with his family. I went to CIV and I saw all the cool custom Mando armor I knew I had to make my own. When I went home I started looking around online for some info and I found my way here. Here is the armor I want to make, this is Cer'jo's daughter wearing her father's old armor he gave her:

Right now I've been saving my money and reading as much as I can on how to do this. I'm gonna start to work on my helmet soon, I can't wait! This is also my first time doing this kind of thing so I know I'm gonna make a lot of mistakes so I'm taking my time and making sure I do everything as best I could.

Here's some pix I took at CIV and at Legoland during the Star Wars weekend(ha ha, my "Jedi robes" are just a bunch of clothes I had that seemed semi Jedi'ish obviously, or as I like to call it, a modern day Jedi from Earth):

I'm a big fan of the new Battlestar Galactica, and Im currently buying parts for my BSG marine costume. I'm working on my new Jodo Kast, which will be in the TEOD color scheme. I collect random props, and SW figures, as well as ladys.;) Sometimes I acuse chestnuts of being lazy, and I absolutly can't stand my speakin voice. :facepalm

And last but not least, here's a pic. of me. -

Hello all, I am Alpha-77, I go by the name Fordo.

I signed up yesterday, due to Dessel and Zannah telling me about this place. Let me say, I am glad I joined!

I have two projects that I would like to build. One of which would be a Custom Sith Lord (I think). And the other is an ARC Trooper: Alpha 77. I really enjoy this his personality. 8)

I will start with the Sith first. It should be an easier task to start on.

You'll probably be hearing about my progress very soon!

Been collecting various SW related props/costumes etc for a bit and just bought me one of them thar Boba buckets off Sarge which i'm hoping to make a pretty decent Jango from mostly because i don't fancy diving straight in with a Boba paintjob.
