What brand of wood stain was it? I think Behr makes a Barn Red in wood stain. The color of your girth looks great!

By latex stain, do you mean a water based wood stain? Like Minwax:

Maybe in Fruit Punch or China Red for ROTJ?

It is water based latex stain, mini wax makes it and so do sherwin williams

I have tried this method as well and ''it works'' not to mention it was quick and easy. Forget dying the girt belt ,this is definetly the best route. BTW I used china red stain and the results are good.

Is latex-stain the same as latex paint?

No it's not the same. The latex stain is specifically for wood, normally used on decks and the like (people will look at you strange if you tell them what you plan to do with it... beware).

The only problem with any type of spray products is that the belt does not suck up enough of the paint so it leaves areas of white here and there.

Hey guys. I am in need of a girth belt, and I saw a nylon cord girth and before I buy it I have a question.

Would this stain work good with a nylon belt? Or something more of a cotton Girth?
