Need Rangefinder Help :)

Hello everyone,
I'm working on my first Boba Build and I thought I would start with the helmet!...Of course.

I was lucky enough to buy a commission slot from Darth Voorhees and received it this Monday. Anyhow, I cant seem to keep the rangefinder from coming down hard every time the helmet tilts forward.

Any ideas on how to prevent this would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a few pictures to give you an idea of what kind of rangefinder base I'm working with.

You can't just fasten the screw tighter from inside the helmet where the earpiece comes through?
