You're screen grabs are always way better ! looks like i shall proceed as planned and simply do original knee pads, am going to re-watch more footage and see how the left one is set up, I suspect much the same but you never know.

Thanks for you're continued help..

Here we go again... jetpack templates dug out from my build folder, dated 23/8/15, 5 years since my origial JP build and its still holding up well...

Now its time to build another for Fetts new look.

Also a friend sent me some information he found regarding the soft parts ..looks to be a good starting point for for further investigation, I think that the soft parts are the same throughout his time on the Mandalorian but its worn differently each time we see him..

Kneepads still a wip, filler, sand, prime repeat until satisfied... I am now on the go slow as most of the stores are closed due to COVID or the queues to get in are far to long, so I cant get the materials I need to carry on... stalled....again... I will turn my attention back to the helmet which hasn't been touched in a few weeks..

Saw a nice image of Tem on set in a behind the scenes video, it shows how the JP is attached which confirmed my suspicions about the rectangle in the back armour.

Two hooks in the middle of the back which obviously attach to the JP. This means a whole new harness is involved

Decided to look at attachment methods for the JP to this now centralised harness arrangement. Two hanger hooks protrude from the middle of the upper back from under the flak vest and through the rectangle on the back plate, Quite the same as Din's does as a practical element for removal during the show... anyway my take on this is simple as I am not looking for accuracy to the costume I am looking at a trooping kit.

So I have made up a plate that will attach to the JP using a sprung bit of metal to add resistance to the hooks from the harness, essentially a compression joint, simple, easy to make and should keep it in place... at some point I will add some concealed Neo magnets to the bottom that will grab on to the back plate using some metal inserts.. again low tech but it will keep it tight, in place and not at risk of lifting off my back........easy to self remove too..

I feel it will make better sense once completed and all shiney looking..

almost finished with the jet pack shell, so well that's going on I have turned my attention to the side arm. Its a mix of a WWII U.S Navy 10 gauge Sedgley Mark 5 flair gun (back to flair guns I see) with an overall length of 11 inches (we have part of the scale ) because the front of the pistol is the barrel from an MP40 German sub machine gun WWII era. so its a tail of two half's! this should be easy to get the values from both these sections and get an overall size. Links bellow to both guns.

images found off the web, not my own work.

edit -- Technical Data of the MP40 Standard / Barrel Length = 253 mm that being said it will need a few CM taken off as this goes all the way back to the magazine which is to far... will keep digging.

I have almost finished the body for the jet pack, it needs a little rub down here and there as the primer illustrates there are a few rough areas no real dramas sorting that out. I have also liberated some keys off an old keyboard which I plan on using for the frilly, detailed bit? What even is that bit anyway? The keys seem a little wide but once attached should do the trick..

Waiting on materials to finish up the jet pack so currently bouncing from various parts to refine them, what I have done is dug out my molds I made 5 years ago I think and see if I could pull a decent cast for the gauntlets... they looked to be in decent shape and the bulk of it what I needed was still there.

I managed to pull two with ease and all they need is a little clean up and the flashing removed... this has saved me a lot of work.. not bad, should turn out great.

I’d say they came out looking pretty sharp. (y)

Nothing to add to the build journal, I am still doing research where I can but I have a commission for something else I am working on which is taking all my time..

I will continue this journey soon enough.

Been mega busy since February, I had a commission to build two proton packs all with lights and sounds, also two ghost traps again with lights and sounds... totaly different to what I usual build but was really fun to be fair...

Back to building my new set of armour for kit number two...

Would be interested to know of any new developments regarding fetts new look? Stills, facts etc..

Yeah it was a great build but took all of my time...

I am back onto the fett kit now and trying to dig up more info on this new look, I have a pile of parts I started making months ago I need to get my head around... Will continue with the JP I think as its almost there..

Been busy with work, coming off furlough and getting back to business...

Anyway I have been working on the JP when I get the chance so heres what I have done. I made a nose cone for the side tanks on the lathe, did my home brew silicon mould using clear 100% silicon mixed with fairy liquid
(works great) pulled the mould and roto cast two duplicates from the master...

Done.... the home 'home brew' moulds are not 100% flawless when pulling a cast but 5 mins of sanding here and there and they are perfect. I used poly craft 2 part resin, sets like a hard plastic in 5 mins it amazing stuff and affordable

Bottom ones next

That looks really cool. Always admire you guys, who can do this kind of thing.

Q: Who'd you get your Jetpack through? MoW Studios, DVH, Boba Maker, Wasted Fett, etc?
A: I made it all myself!

Keep up the great work! Next thing you know, you'll be a vendor selling your stuff on TDH!
