My PROTOTYPE / SUPER TROOPER build process.

Mr EWOK One

Active Hunter
So I've been quietly working on my all white Prototype build for a while now, and I had to make some stylistic decisions to either go fully accurate or to take some liberty to make my build feel more personal. I decided along the way to switch out the '79 screen test used modified Uzi for the EE-3 and to give him a sidearm and holster. I also chose to finish the armor with a high gloss finish, because one of the earliest inspirational build references I ever saw of this suit was someone who made theirs with a really glossy look to it, I thought it looked badass and I felt it would be easiest to clean or touch up blemishes on later. I know this is going to be a bit of a nightmare to walk in and keep clean.... I'm a "professional" painter in the real world so painting this all white tends to feel a bit boring. My pieces are all 3D printed not vacu formed, so I dealt woth a lot of prep work prior to actually throwing paint around. I was able to have a little fun with the blasters and some of the chrome parts. I think I'm at about the half way point now, and I have been time lapse video documenting this entire build and paint process and everything else involved.

There still are some things out of my control, at some point I hope to be able to replace out some things, like the OG '79 Star Wars Beach towel that I've never been able to actually locate after literally years of looking. I'm currently stuck with the 'other' 1979 towel that will just have to do for now as a place holder of shame, until hopefully one day someone on here is willing to offer me one for sale or if there's ever a custom made run maybe screen printed or something, I dunno....

Lastly before I post some pics: I did at some point see a Grogu in carbonite backpack idea, and I've now sent myself down yet another rabbit hole to make myself a jet pack alternate for cons. I am currently working on this idea also, I will also be adding those progress pics and or videos in here as they present themselves. At the end of this entire thing I will edit and put a soundtrack etc to my youtube channel and have this entire build video but in time lapse, as I do that already for my other artwork and comic illustration videos. For now, if anyone is interested in subbing to that channel, it's ---> MR. EWOK ONE but you will see, there is nothing on there currently related to Fett, but my video will be there once it's complete. Possibly a seperate video for the Grogu backpack.

Looking forward to some of the OG's in here to have some feed backs and suggestions, please don't go too hard on the new guy ( even though I've been lurking these forums since 2014 )

OH! P.S. I also wanted to have a helmet alternate, so I was able to track down and paint a Ralph McQuarrie raw helmet, which was always a favorite of mine, even though most people don't know that version. Out in the world I don't think anyone will get it, but I always loved McQuarrie's designs and getting that helmet was a must when I saw one available.

ALL my 3D printing came for a real perfectionist out of Atlanta, you can find his work on IG @makersjustmake his Youtube is @MakersJustMake

MORE to come.

Still waiting for my white soft suit to arrive, as well as my white leather side arm holster and EE-3 shoulder strap to arrive.

If anyone is curious where some of these items came from feel free to ask, I can share a link, like the boots, gloves etc.

I still need to track down the white amo belt pockets, or make my own. Not sure what to do to manage that yet. ‍♂️

A little update bump here. Some progress finding amo pouches that where brown, and having to do about 10 coats of leather paint to get them to look truly white. A pain in the butt, but well worth it. At this point Im on the fence at making a "Gerth belt" for this version of Fett since I believe this version was prior to the concept of fett having the Gerth belt. To be cont. on this...

Also I ended up having to do a lot of filler and sanding, and paint, repeat x 10, to convert my ESB version Jetpack to have flat surface areas that I preferred for this Version of the supertrooper. ( it still has the diagonal design element if you notice, but I kinda like that part and its gonna stay for now. if I decide later to really dial in accuracy stuff more, I can work on items one at a time, but for now this is how the jetpack will stay, next I will focus on the small metal detail paint jobs and potential little lettering designs I noticed are on the back of this in some early photos... debating on keeping it clean or trying to replicate these little details or not.. if anyone has a better reference for these details, please share, otherwise I'll end up winging it, and that can be disastrous. ; /

Lastly, sharing some of this side project update: The GROGU jetpack alternate backpack. As stated earlier, this is just a fun option I wanted to do with my 3D printer friend "MAKER" to do this and possibly offer for people to have for home display or as a backpack like I will eventually have. You might not see it here, but I sculpted one of his eyes to look like its twitching, during the freeze process. This was my little artistic liberty to give it some character and not to end up looking like some computer print out. I shiped this off to MAKER to 3D scan and build the greebles and box, and i will later be hand painting the "carbonite" look and feel to it all. Again, this will be up on Youtube in a completed vidie series of all of this stuff. Youtube channel ---> MY CHANNEL

some eye candy.

Finally got my vest and bottoms soft parts, but the pants are all f*cked up, so I was forced to get some military white pants that I hope to seem rip the pockets etc off and re apply to pants that actually fit me. Fingers crossed that the white cotton actually matches and doesn't look stupid. These Etsy guys had all my correct measurements but made the pants completely wrong... The tops are great aside from some blemishes I hope wash out, but the bottoms where completely useless..
