So I've been quietly working on my all white Prototype Fett build for a while now, and I had to make some stylistic decisions to either go fully accurate or to take a bit of liberty to make my build feel more personal. I decided along the way to switch out the 1979 screen test used modified Uzi blaster for the EE-3 and to give him a sidearm and holster. I also chose to finish the armor with a high gloss, because one of the earliest inspirational build references I ever saw of this suit was someone who made theirs with a really glossy look to it, and I felt it would be easiest to clean or touch up blemishes on later. I'm a professional painter ( LOL ) in the real world so painting this all white tends to get a bit boring. I was able to have a little fun with the blasters and some of the chrome parts. I think I'm at about the half way mark now, and I have been time lapse video documenting this entire build and paint process and everything else involved.
There still are some things out of my control, that at some point I hope to be able to replace out, like the OG '79 Star Wars Beach towel that I've never been able to locate after literally years of looking. I'm currently stuck with the 'other' 1979 towel that will just have to do for now, until hopefully someone on here is willing to offer me of if someone at some point remakes them with today's drop ship companies out there.
Lastly before I post some pics: I did at some point see a Grogu in carbonite backpack idea, and I've now set myself down yet another rabbit hole to make myself a jet pack alternate for cons, I am currently doing that so I will also be adding those progress pics and or videos in here as they present themselves. At the end of this entire thing I will edit and put a soundtrack etc to my youtube channel and have this entire build video but in time lapse, as I do that already for my other artwork and comic illustration videos. For now, if anyone is interested in subbing to that channel, it's ---> MR. EWOK ONE but you will see, there is nothing on there currently related to Fett, but my video will be there once it's complete.
Looking forward to some of the OG's in here to have some feed backs and suggestions, please don't go too hard on the new guy ( even though I've been lurking these forums since 2014 )
OH! P.S. I also wanted to have a helmet alternate, so I was able to track down and paint a Ralph McQuarrie version, which was always a favorite as well. Out in the world I don't think anyone will get it, but I always loved McQuarrie's designs and getting that helmet was a must.
ALL my 3D printing came for a real perfectionist out of Atlanta, you can find his work on IG @makersjustmake his Youtube is @MakersJustMake
MORE to come.
