My humble ESB Fett build (so far)

My jetpack is about 90% complete. I'd still like to rework the battle damage some. And I'm waiting on a set of decals from DeLucks.

Not sure when I'll get to work on it again. My wife, my son, and I are moving into an extended stay tomorrow. A tree fell on our house a couple of weeks ago, and we're in the process of finding a new place. I'm happy I got as much done at my mom's house as I did.

Sorry to hear of the house. But glad no one was hurt. Also, the JP looks fantastic, keep er’ up!

Indeed we were fortunate it fell in the afternoon. Especially considering our son's room was destroyed. My wife was the only one home. She's an Air Force vet, and she said when it hit, it sounded like a bomb going off.

Thanks! I'm really happy how it's turning out. I'm kind of surprised, actually. Since I did all of the painting in two days. Lol. Thank God for TDH community. While it's not professional quality, I'm happy with it.

I can only imagine. I'm former US Army myself ('94 to '04), and as a Combat Engineer we got to play with and deploy TNT, C4, Shaped Charges, Bangalore torpedo's, etc. So I'm familiar with the "Boom"! Scary nonetheless. And to have destroyed your son's room......Thank God, he wasn't in there sleeping or playing! Scary indeed.

Like you, I'm truly thankful for this awesome community! I certainly couldn't have gotten to where I am today without em'! And don't be too hard on yourself, you should be proud of your ESB Fett!

Regards,

I've been afforded several opportunities to work on my jetpack. I've added a good deal more weathering. Yesterday I was able to apply my decals from DeLucky. I'm pretty pleased with the result, but I'm sure I'll be tweaking it forever.

I also had to include my son's Disney Store jetpack.

Is that Disney Store jetpack from the website?
So sorry for the late reply! I'm sure by now you've discovered the answer already

Well, we moved in June. I was able to make it back this past weekend and bring my stuff back with me. I FINALLY received my jetpack harness and holster. The holster still needs some work, too. I also opted to attempt to alter a plain pair of coveralls for the flightsuit. I know it will be rife with inaccuracies, but I'm not looking for 501st approval... yet.

Anyway, here's a shot from right before we moved.

And here are a few additions (vest and neckseal are MoW):

*Please excuse the messy apartment*

It's been a hot minute since I've shared any progress on my build, which is mostly due to not having much progress to show.

I acquired the rest of my armor from Viva Fett. I managed to trim the shoulder bells, the kidney armor and most of the cod piece. I also was able to paint the shoulder bells. AND mount the armor to the vest.

I think the right pauldron turned out nicely. The left one... it will work for now.

My son insisted on photobombing my Boba-selfies. Lol

Lookin' good! Jetpack looks great man, and you're right, there will probably always be tweaks and changes and stuff, I feel like none of us are ever truly finished with our rigs! lol

Thanks, man!

Speaking of tweaks, I'm getting close to being satisfied with the left pauldron lol

Recent additions/improvements:
- Painted up the cod piece and kidney armor from Viva Fett. I used some spare keyboard key caps to make the studs. They're a little too tall, but I'm good with them for now.
- Painted the knee pads from Viva Fett and installed the darts from Machine Craft
- Slowly reworking my gauntlets using the hinges provided by Man of War. I was becoming increasingly concerned with just magnets. I'm also removing the gauntlet hose connector, which I stupidly glued on. I have a couple 3.5mm aux extenders on the way.
- I did the "white out" technique on the jetpack, and it turned out okay.
- No photos to show, buy my mother-in-law has started altering my Red Kap overalls. I've got some gray fabric dye on the way. I'm hoping it will both mix with the royal blue for the flightsuit, and serve to dye the flak vest and neck seal.
As I feared, the girth belt I dyed with my brother will be too small. I bought some extra ones on eBay, and I just have to replace the buckles to make them more accurate and dye it.
I used some plastic from a pen cap to test it out the gauntlet hose separation.

Still to do:

- Make alterations to the flak vest

- Purchase web straps for girth belt and cod piece/back belt

- Wookie braids. I might make my own, but more likely than not I'll buy a set from Woodman or another seller.

I'm getting close!

Firstly, I edited most previous posts to have thumbnails instead of full images. I thought everyone would prefer it that way.

Now, I did some more paint work on the knee pads. I installed a set of 3.5mm jacks and plugs into the gauntlet hose block. I wasn't totally satisfied with how secure the connection was, so I installed some magnets. It improved that some, and isn't too terribly noticeable. I've also started work on the "Boba Thong."

I'm tackling the girth belt next.

It's been a while since I've given any updates. I hope everyone has had good holidays.

I've done some reworking on my gauntlets, finished the girth belt, finished my holster, acquired the Wookie braids, replaced the jetpack collar with one from MachineCraft , and received an EFX helmet from my brother for Christmas. It will need a fair amount of tinkering, but definitely an improvement over the Hasbro helmet.

curious as I’m working on my build too, what keeps the thong/cod pieces from falling down?

spyder918
While I can't speak for what MrFusion1138 is planning to do. But I'm willing to bet that in the above photos, that he probably doesn't have Velcro sewn into his jeans.
;):p

However, I can tell you for me, that Velcro is your friend. In fact, that is also how I also get the actual thong strap and the knee armor strap to stay in place. And while it is not shown in the below picture, there is velcro sewn into the back side of the flight suit for the Kidney Armor's velcro...

I've used this setup for nearly 4 years now and it hasn't failed me, not once.
