MLC Jet Pack painting progress (pic intensive)

I started another thread & asked how to paint the scratches.
paint pens were suggested for a topical paint.

I tried the paint pens.
it looks like I painted the scratches on the pack.
The paint also wrinkled up on me.
this sux.
I'm gonna sand it down & start again.

Your kidding,,,, right?

Nope, already started.
I think I'll just redo the blue parts as they have the most battle damage.
I'll do the other parts topically, probably the sponge technique.

ok, it's finally finished.(except the stabilizer & beacon)
I sanded the blue back down
masked it off
painted it silver
used the "mustard" technique
painted over that with the blue again
pulled off the masking tape ,
AND THE DECALS PULLED OFF WITH THE TAPE!!!!!!!!!

scrubbed off the mustard
repainted the now missing decals by hand
painted a few topical scratches
weathered it with a wash of acrylic black & windshield washer fluid

misted the whole thing with black

That looks incredible! I have just started painting mine and ran in to a problem with the blue paint peeling off with the tape, too. I have to repaint those sections but I like how my yellow/orange areas turned out sort of pre-dirty.

You may want to try a hair-dryer when removing the tape...removing slowly of course....works in most cases.

S1P..LOOKS amazing....even after your touch-up work...
