Using Tfett40's D23 photographs for comparison. I had to bring in the back curve slightly, here is both sides so far with the correction.
This scratch building is more challenging than I thought!
Still at it... more sanding, also working on details, trim, keyhole, and starting on the ear pieces... which will require a lot more work... a whole lot more work...
Like I said at the begining of this project, I'm trying to keep this as low budget as possible, while still trying for some screen accuracy in the finished product...
Trying to be as transparent with the Mandalorian helmet scratch build as I can...
Rookie mistake made yesterday. I should have done a test run with the resin / hardener mixture. Even though I applied it after mixing as directed, it should have been setting up in 2 hours, now 24 hours later I still have several tacky spots, but most of the helmet i.e. the top is completely dry.
I am setting the helmet out in the sun today hoping the heat may help.
Always... always should do a test run with your fiberglass resin mixture before applying it to your build. Lesson learned the hard way... but still having fun with my very first scratch build attempt!
Feel free to chime in.
