Knee Armour

Well i have some BM knee armour and have had them painted already. Only problem is that they are too wide and flar out. So is there a way to heat the plastic to reform them without destroying the finished paint work?
I've thought about a hair dryer but worried it may bubble the paint or hot water but also don't know what effect it will have on the paint.

I've used a hair dryer before on my Boushh helmet. It was too small for my wife's head so I heated it up from the inside and then braced it with a dowel over night (this was after painting and adding the leather wrap inside). I think if you heat them from the inside, bend them and secure them, you should be fine. Just remember not to keep the heat too long in one spot, and bend slowly.
