ok i got it to work YAY!!.
so now i have a question. i was using this circuit to save pins on my arduino. how hard would it be to get the arduino to turn it on. not necicarily powering it.

If you have one of the arduino pins set to an output, the voltage from that pin could be used to power the flashing circuit. It would be easier to just use a tilt switch and a battery to turn it on and off.
I actually make a kit smaller than the one posted here, I have a sale thread in the cargo hold.
