Welcome to the group and all, but dude...you seriously went "Night of the Living Thread." That's really not the best way to make a first impression. The thread flow was all jacked up with "Wow..." posts. It's like you were living up to you namesake, "Gonk" only instead of only saying gonk you were saying "wow...", Lol. Either way, welcome. Glad to have you here and am looking forward to witnessing the expansion of your lexicon.

Does put us newbies at a disadvantage somewhat. Kinda like looking for that job to get experience when everyone is only hiring with experience. A lot of our great suppliers won't answer PM's near as well as replies which we can't do, so buying quality is tough. Thanks to those who have answered my PM's. But hey, why be easy, when you can be exclusive!

Hmmm...that's interesting. Things must have changed since I joined because I had no issues contacting vendors when I wanted to order something. Perhaps the reason for delayed responses etc. is that C7 is coming up and many vendors are swamped. That would make sense.

I'd have to agree with bcurtis. Vendors are on overdrive right now with C7. In my opinion, PMing or better yet, emailing vendors directly gets the best results. Replies in threads are good for bumping their threads to show support.

I was able to get all parts of my Boba Fett outfit commissioned in the 3 months when I was unable to post in the Cargo hold. While I am still waiting on my jet pack and helmet (should be arriving shortly) I was able to get all the parts. You can't do two basic things as a newbie...post in the cargo hold and sarlac pit. That's like only 10% of the stuff that goes on in the forums. This site really wasn't supposed to be the Wal-mart of Boba Fett parts but be a tool for people to network with other Boba Fett troopers to exchange ideas while improving the overall costume. The rule isn't meant to be exclusive but help prevent against spam attacks similar to the "Night of the Living Thread" experienced yesterday.

There lies the problem. Never ever doing a build before. You don't know what to ask or have the know how to comment on other builds. Once you are able to get some pieces to start then you are ready to ask for that advice. I am not a supporter for posting for postings sake. Not trying to be a pain, just thinking that someone like myself who has been online since Nov without making any rash or ugly comments should be able to be "let go" by now. Maybe it should have a little flexibility built in.
