I want to do this right- Proper Drying times:

I've shot the primer and aluminum on my HS armor but how long should I wait until I start masking the other colors?

I've hear some people say that silver can take a few days to fully cure and I don't want to rush it. I'm also most likely going the mustard route because I cannot find any outlets for masking fluid in my town so that's one compromise I'm making already.

Rustoleum silver has always taken a couple of days to cure for me. It may be because I put it in a little thick, but I. Would caution you to be patient.

I've seen your Cam Kennedy Fett in person ... you have nice weathering and painting skills. I think you'll do a great paintup.

Thank you for that.
All of the weathering for that suit was topical but I want to go the layered route with this one.

I use toothpaste for masking because I've had issues with mustard staining the silver paint. But for drying time I just go by the dry to handle time listed on the can of paint.

Why didnt u just ask me fool u txt'd me anyways? What kind of silver is it? And do u want me to send u graphix masking fluid? I have a spare container of it...lemme know

Hey Tony,
I've used the silver Rusto on my build (which was also layered) and it seemed like that stuff dried right away. I never had any issues, but of course where I live it's pretty dry. I did paint it this last winter but kept the pieces in the house and warmed them up right before applying another layer.
I think it was at least always a day or two before applying the next coat due to masking fluid times though. Hope that helps some :)

Well, F4R swears I didn't listen to him (and I didn't, but still...) but most of the pieces met with fail. I used Krylon Matte Aluminum with a layer of light gray for the first actual "painted" layer and it cracked. I need to strip them and try again.

I may not have what it takes for doing the layered technique.
