Hinge problem

TX-7365

Hunter
I decided to go with the hinge & pin system rather than the magnets.
only problem is,I have the hinges,I haven't cut them to length yet....but I cant seem to figure out how
to get the pin out. I looks to have dimples on every second section holding it in. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks

Need to get it in a vice and use a pin punch. Once you get enough out, grab it with vice grip pliers tightly and continue hitting the pliers to pull the pin. Then you can shave/grind part of the pin down to clear the dimples.

If you want to ship me your stuff, I'll do it for free. Just supply the hinges. And let me know if you approve of the way I did my hinges. I have some down time... I'm Waiting on a bunch of stuff to be shipped to me!

Thank you for the generous offer NoGoodToM3D3ad thats above & beyond help.
I like to tackle the ins & outs of my builds. But really thank you very much for the offer.

I can make a quick video tomorrow on how i did the hinges (Cutting and all)
I for one didn't have a vice. I used Raw Brute Strength!!! But, like I've stated in your other hinge/gaunt closure thread- it is NOT EASY taking that **** Pin out without the proper tools for the job (Like syllander suggests).
Measure the appropriate length (For MOW, it happens to be at a gap on a "piano" hinge [I can get you the exact brand of hinge I used tomorrow]) cut the hinge with a dremel (Preferably), then start cranking that **** pin out with pliers or vice gripes (Optimally)
Hindsight, I should have tried drilling/dremeling out the retainer dimples.

I cut off on part of the hinge to get to the pin then used a vice and pliers and brute forced it out. Word to the wise cut them to size first. That way you are pulling less pin out at a time.

they are in epoxy stage now,Ill have in progress pic alittle later...im off today so there will be multiple fett projects going on today.

here ya go...

Seems like you used the two NON dimpled sides? This a correct observation?
You also went the extra mile to do the hard core Cruzer method chopping out that hinge gap... Admirable.
It looks great!

Not exactly,I did what syllander suggested & shaved down the pin so it would clear the dimples.
On the other gauntlet I had to cut one of the dimpled ones off & yes I did follow the Cruzer tutorial for the hinge gap.
I also shaved down the side walls to recess the hinge flush, on the inside.
Thank you Fairy Gaunt mother
