Hawk_Fett_ ESB Build

Been a little bit since my last update. Closing in on the final details. Ears done, visor and rangefinder installed. Still some work to be done on the mandibles and dome. On my way to the finish line.

Finished the final touches on the helmet. Re-painted the right shoulder, and finished the paint on both knees. Awaiting rockets and jet pack from Viva Fett. Finished the Cod piece and kidney armor as well as the back armor. This is so rewarding having a placeholder for my armor. Really pushed the motivation to sand, bondo, paint, ect. The drive to assemble it is real. Can't wait to see what everything looks like together. Almost 3 years in the making.

Finished the stenciling and cutting of my cape today. Tedious process but I'm happy with the results. So much fun watching everything come together. I wished I had bought a mannequin sooner. It truly brings your work to life. Girth belt is getting some love next and then I'm just waiting on parts. I love Boba Fett. Should've done this build years ago. Thanks for following along on my journey to pilot the Slave 1.

Got my Girth belt in last week and went to work on it. I'm pretty happy with the Brown/Red color on it. I first tried to dye it with Colonial Red RIT dye from Target but that did not work. To be honest, the color that Colonial Red RIT dye gave was spot on. However, don't try the dye route. I had to wash most of it out in the sink because it would've ran out the first time it got wet and would ruin the suit. And it was also a mess. I had some flat red primer that dries almost brown on hand so I gave that a go. I looked all around the forums for different methods and thought I would give my rattle can a try first to see how it worked. I tried to match as closely as I could to Matty Matts girth color which I believe is a very close match. If you look to the left of the seam closely, it looks more red, and to the right of the seam more brown. Fett is a lighting masterpiece. Matty matt's build is an excellent thread for reference pictures on the color of the belt. With that done, the rest of my stuff is on order. Just waiting on parts now that everything I have on hand is done, minus some weathering needed here a there. Particularly on the Flak.

Dang this thing is really coming together. Great paint work. You weren't afraid to go back and redo things!
Thanks man! It feels really good seeing all of it on a mannequin. Definitely a strong motivator to push on. Haha, no doubt. I have definitely had my share of repaints. The helmet was a monster repaint, but my 2nd attempt was so much better. Viva Fetts Wasted Fett Fugly looked so much more accurately shaped than my last helmet. The repaints were enough to drive you nuts, but I'm glad I did it. And thanks for the feedback. It's encouraging!

Not a problem man! Encouragement does go a long way. Feedback in general is so helpful as well. I haven't actually tackled the paint on mine yet and it is something that is exciting to begin and tremendously stressful as I get closer. However I am still in the bend weld and grind mode but really close!

Really sharp looking setup man. Keep it up!

You will get there. Time and patience is key. I started mine December of 2020 so it has taken me what seems like an eternity to get this far and I'm still not done. Very tough but rewarding build. Especially for a first timer like me. I wish you luck man. Can't wait to see your progress!

Stumbled across this relic in the Cargo hold the other day on my journey to Fett-dom. Holding the Nemrod Holster in my hands gave me a bit of nostalgia/star struck feeling. Like, the real Boba/Jeremy Bulloch had this hanging from his harness. I just held it in disbelief. I know that sounds weird, but its cool to me. It's the only real prop on my project so far. Cool feeling to own something genuine to Fett. Crazy how much you have to pay to get one, but the feeling it gave me holding it was nearly worth it ha. Looking forward to shaving the sheath and making this piece Canon.
