Went back and misted the shoulder after talking with Jurassic_Fett. Much better looking now. I've also been painting on my new Viva Fett armor with his critiques as well and it has been an awesome experience so far. I'm putting the finishing touches on the right breastplate tonight/this weekend, and just finished laying down the red paint stage on the Sigil using Jurassics stencils. So much better than my first attempt. These stencils are the best I have used. When working with rattle cans, stencils can get weird, but these have all been a proper peel with the appropriate cure times. My chest armor is night and day better. Still a little way to go but much better than my previous attempts. Huge thanks to Jurassic Fett for putting up with all my questions this far. Pretty excited to finish this project. I also made an armor progression compilation of pics to represent why I paint the entire armor yellow during the masking stages, and not just the spots around the damage where I know it is. My take anyway. Enjoy!

Before(1st pic) and after. Finished up my chest and abdominal armor this weekend. Still need to add the red acrylic film over my Fettronic chest display, but VERY happy with my new armor. Wouldn't have been possible without Jurassic_Fett, his stencils, his critiques, and his attention to detail. Completely transformed my Fett.

Happy Fett Friday Bounty Hunters! I wanted to update my TDH build thread on recent progress. If you follow my IG, it's nothing new, but I got after the shin tools a couple weeks ago. Really happy with how they turned out. I used a real Paterson squeegee and stirrer to complete the project as well, which makes these parts, and the holster, the only genuine parts of my Fett so far. I used my Tamiya Weatherine master to "rustify" the metal parts on the anti-security blade. I taped everything off myself with Media archive references. Once I had the orange and black paint down, I went back and lightly dusted the Sonic beam tool with black to weather it. Displayed on the table, the weathering looks heavier in some spots, but it's pretty uniform. The lights over my kitchen table are in jars, so it plays with the shadows that can be seen carrying over onto the cutting board as well. Helmet Nod to Miggs Fett for pointing out the the lowest grip/rung on the Paterson squeegee is ground down, and the opening exposed. When you grind it down it will reveal a spring you can pull out. I cleaned up the opened area with a razor blade and continued on. Miggs also pointed to several references show several different variations of how the shin tools were worn in different scenes, so it's up to you on how you want to display them on their respective sides of course. I have noticed that the survival knife is also displayed on both sides, which can be seen in the Carbonite chamber scene where Fetts knee armor is upside down. Added those pics for reference. Last weekend was a productive one! I assembled the HH Props/ Bigdane Jetpack Harness. My wife actually did all the sewing, so she basically did all the work, and my Mom had stopped by, so I recruited her to help as well with strap length, jetpack height/ect. I also made the neccessary cuts in the back of the vest to route the straps through and did a rough test fit on myself with the harness/buckle, and on my stand in mannequin. I ordered the full metal fett jetpack hardware and Tri-glide adjuster, and once that arrives it will be time to mount the jetpack. That will just about have me ready for 501st application photos so I can finally suit up. I still need to paint my Viva Fett cod and kidney armor to complete the set but that should take no time. With two weeks of Coast Guard drill coming up, I'll be shooting for mid to late April timeline for completion. Getting really excited to see everything come together!

Interesting to read about the jetpack harness assembly. It is one of the things I'm most dreading in my build. My wife is a quilter so will most likely be doing the sewing as well. Were there any challenges sewing the seatbelt material? Thanks.

Thanks! sandtrooper8867 The material itself took the thread nicely. There were a few times where we had to move the metal tubing around and position it where my wife could get a good thread. Definitely recommend a second hand. Most of it is just folding over the strap around the tubing and sewing it in place. The part that made me the most nervous was the white straps. Not having the hardware on hand to see where they needed to be exactly was a worry, but I can also adjust the Jetpack hardware and mount it where it's needed before securing it. Cutting the vest in the back also made me nervous but it wasnt bad either.

My first official troop is in the books at the Nashville Comicon. I trooped around 2-3 hours that day. Awesome experience! Looking back to the beginning of this build it felt surreal. From starting with a 3d printed helmet and armor set, to replacing everything and repainting everything so much it really brought it all into perspective. The Midsouth Garrison was also very welcoming, and everyone I met that day was awesome. There were a few special needs kids that came by that we were able to take photos with and it felt really good to make peoples day doing this. I've got another troop scheduled in September and can't wait to get back out there and troop!
