Got a lot done last night.
First thing- the paint for the whipcord housing and the upper hose connector went bad. Guess it didn't like the primer underneath and just never dried properly. I guess I could have swinged not repainting it all things considered but I'm glad I went through the trouble of stripping it all down and then using rub and buff. Looks better IMO than before.
One thing that I don't have pics off is the mounting of the front spikes/metal darts but setting those up was not fun. Additionally, as you'll see, I didn't realize the darts I had were in fact Boba style. Due to time and my general attitude of not caring that far into the build, I'll just have to replace them down the road. Kinda annoyed.
After that, I focused on the grappling hook dart, making the fins from scratch in ABS. I eye-balled the design from the reference but feel it came out pretty good. I know the overall placement is further back than where it should be for accuracy, however, due to how far the thing already sticks out, I pushed it back for safety reasons.
So very pokey. I can't anger the girlfriend
And now they're both done, well, ready for dirt and hoses. So glad I can move on from these. This build was more tedious than I really care for under a time crunch
