Differences in ROTJ & ESB Fett helmet

The whole helmet is different.

-Visor shade goes from green (ESB) to grey (ROTJ).
-Main green paint on helmet goes from minty-to olive Green.
-Right ear caps are tan (ESB) and silver in (ROTJ.)
-ESB helmet is wider than ROTJ helmet at the base.
-Weathering is different.
-Killstripes in ESB are yellow while they are orange in ROTJ.

Over all the helmet is totally different. I will post comparison pics for you when I can:).

I would be easier to say what is the same................They both have a dent and a t-visor.

Every color on the helmets are different. The damage is different. Look in the Boba Fett helmet forum. At the top of the list of threads is a sticky with helmet stencils

http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f23/all-boba-fett-helmet-stencils-templates-41929/

Then look under the section with Rafal's stencils........there is a thread for each and in the thread there is a "skin" of each paint job. You will see the huge differences.

here is a quick look

Luckily enough though the actual physical models are more or less the same except for some minor sizing differences and the rangefinder optics, nothing as extreme as the stormtrooper buckets. So the main difference is just the paint work.

I love that y'all didn't take your time to be as stupid as me and try to list stuff OFF[emoji38]. I should have just posted the pics Mullreel just posted lol.

It is hard to tell the difference at first. After you have been at it a while, the differences will be so blaringly obvious, you will be able to tell with a thumbnail sketch. The easy tells at first (that I used) are the cat scratch over the right ear on the ESB, the kill stripe colors (red on ROTJ, yellow to orange on ESB), the ears, and the rear panel colors (aquamarine on ESB, more green on the ROTJ). After having painted a rear panel 3 times, I can tell you which paints someone used and weather they nailed the weathering patterns right on the ESB. You get OCD real fast.

I wish I could put a ESB helmet on the ROTJ body. ESB has a lot more to it, it actually looks like it belongs to ROTJ. I'm guessing that wouldn't be 501st approved?

I am not an expert, but people around here know what goes into an SE Fett. It's not that complicated. For the most part, it is an ESB Helmet with ROTJ everything else, but I am sure I am missing some finer points.

So there's no clear cut description as to what this build consists of I'm guessing. But I do love the helmet mixed with ROTJ body
have you checked out the 501st costume reference library? unfortunately the special edition version crl isn't finished, but the esb is all done, and rotj is mostly done.
rotj: 501st Legion: Vader's Fist
esb: 501st Legion: Vader's Fist

shorthand for special edition, put an esb helmet on a rotj suit then add 4 more pouches on the ammo belt.

No you can still be approved even before the CRL is complete but the CRL is the guideline that should direct the GML in his evaluation. Otherwise too much opinion can enter in. There are many ROTJ SE approved in the legion.

I started off loving the esb way more and still do but when it comes to just having a helmet lined up on the wall in a collection i think the rotj looks better on its own but with the rest of the costume esb looks nicer thats my opinion anyhow, ultimately no matter what you choose you will be happy in the end both are beautifull helmets! ( besides who here can actually just stop at one ;) )
