Depot Fett

Well I am sad to say no updates. I am going to resand the helmet and do a better job, but I have lots of work to do to the basement first. I gues you could call it part of the Fett project since the environment around him is relevant to the whole thing right?

;)

Yes, this bucket is awesome! I hope mine turns out even half as good!

I just got the Depot bucket yesterday, and I plan to print out the templates tomorrow, hopefully starting to cut down the batting helmet tomorrow as well.

UPDATE:

After resanding and filling and sanding and filling...then painting, then repainting, then painting again..I finally got a green I am happy with and as soon as I applied the red....SWEET!! I am very pleased with my Home Depot bucket so far!!!

I just used a cheap $15 batting helmet (largest adult size i could find). Just be sure it is smooth all around. It had a little hole at the top, but I filled that with bondo.

Thanks petepurin!

It looks darker in person...and this is the color I was going for (how it looks to me). Considering it will be in my dark basement..and I plan to dirty it up a bit later...I think this should work for me!

Thanks!!

Just thought I'd post an update to my scratch built "Depot Fett".

I still have all the weathering and detailing to do to the lid, but I did mount the ears on the weekend. I made those from aluminum plates and bondo. :) Not perfect..and there are a few things I would have done different if I had to start over, but I am pleased so far.

My RF stalk was signed by Jeremy Bullock (thanks Muttley)...unfortunately he started signing a bit too close to the base..oh well.

WOW!
That is one heck of a good looking scratch-build!
I wish I had that kind of talent!
:)

Thanks for the kind words! I wouldn't wish my 'lack of' talent on anyone. :p It's more a need to have thing that drives me to do things regardless of my lack of talent. Hehe.

Wow that bucket is sweet. Looking really good, you should be proud to have scratch built that.

btw i love the 1:1 scale Solo in the back ground.

Oh man, that looks awesome!! I see you're going ESB, very good choice.

I'd post pics of my progress...but they would just include a cut up batting helmet, untouched bucked, and a "do not park here" sign.
