Boba fett helmet build and paint

Hey guys not sure if it's a bit late, but i've been building my own Boba Fett helmet based on RafalFett's Amazing patterns! Slightly modifying as i was going though to accurize it a bit more. I've started bondo-ing it already, but still have a lot more sanding and filling to go...

And i've also taken a small break from that to make the rangefinder and ears out of styrene.

As far as the visor goes, i still am not sure what to do about that. Same with the paint, my plan is to do almost fully rattle-canned, i'm gonna do it truly layered. (gonna use masking liquid when doing the different layers) So, help for the visor and paints would be very much appreciated!

Will update with pics later...

Thanks for looking!

Nice, can't wait for pictures! Are you using pepakura or something similar?
yeah, a pepakura kind of thing. I'm making the base out of some cardboard from Rafalfett's patterns and then coating it with bondo, then i'll probably remove the cardboard from the inside when it's done.

Here's what i've got so far: (And so sorry for the absolute garbage pics, i'll try to take some better ones later.... If anyone knows how to take decent pictures, please give tips!)

Done some work bondo-ing the dome:

Made the Borden connector:

Tell me what you think please!

Very good! It looks like you are at the same stage I was in January (I was slowed down by 2020 being a Sarlacc Pit of a year).

Good luck, and keep going! I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.

You used the worst type of cardboard (corrugated) for your build, as this type can't be shaped easily because it leaves all kinds of fold lines on the surface (best visible on the upper cheeks). I would suggest to switch to paperboard (or chipboard) and you'll see the big difference..

Man, I wish I would've done that earlier. But it's a bit late now.
