Boba Fett Flight Suit Tutorial?

Hey everyone, for a long time now I've been scattering the internet from sites such as thedentedhelmet, Boba Fett Builders, Redditt's, and Youtube videos to find help on how to actually sew Boba Fett's flight suit. I'm not looking to buy a already sewed flight suit since most are out of my budget, but a coverall I can fix up to make my flight suit. It seems that most photos I've seen of various cosplayers flight suit they have no "butt" pockets or side pockets where your phone typically goes, do you guys usually sew yours from scratch and not add them or do you change up yours to get rid of them?

Question #1- What is the best coverall on the market I can buy that would be lightweight and most Boba Fett Builders typically use?

Question #2- How on earth do you guys sew the oversleeve?

Questions #3- how do you guys sew the utility pouches on the pants all the way up the leg?

Pictures or tutorials would be so appreciated!

-Thanks:)

Alot of people here purchase their flight suits and do not make them. Arkady is the most affordable flight suit and is great quality, which a majority of people here have. The most accurate and expensive flight suit is made by Clothears.

Echoing what Viewoptic said that yea most of us here purchase custom tailored suits pre-made.

But depending on what you are aiming to achieve, you can definitely make your own Fett style flightsuit from coveralls.
I've done it for a custom Mandalorian, and while it is certainly less expensive it's a lot of of work to modify an existing garment.
If you are just looking to make one for general cosplay, it may be an option but I would still recommend just saving for a ready to go suit.

Having said that.
You'll want to find a brand of coveralls that also offer a short sleeve'd version (either a work shirt or short sleeve coveralls) in the same fabric and buy both.

Carefully remove both the long sleeves off the flight suit and the short sleeves off the extra shirt, picking apart the seams with a seam ripper and once they are off you can add the cosmetic stitching around the short sleeves and any other tailoring you need to do. Then you will have to sew the short sleeve on to the long sleeves and then re-attach them both to the coveralls.

Here's an example of that (Not a Boba style though)

There's a thread here with thigh pouch dimensions, you can use the extra fabric from your short sleeve shirt to create the pouches.
You may have to open the crotch seam of the flight suit to get your sewing machine into the legs to attach them.

Butt pockets can be removed with a seam ripper and side pockets can be sewn shut if you want to minimize the appearance.

If you are really interested in sewing your own flight suit, I would also check out the Mandalorian Mercs forum as many members there make their own custom ones from scratch and they will have a lot of information on that!
