Boba Armor Screen Accuracy Discussion - TMS2 / Rearmored / Fresh

Everyone should be able to hit the link, it's just the Bounty Hunter Detachment of the 501st, nothing "secret squirrel". Even if we're unable to pull the link, at least we could provide some informational pointers/starting places for folks trying to put their kit together.

The "Post Sarlacc Armor" CRL discussion is here:

and the "Repainted" Boba CRL Discussion is here:

You will need to register an account to view the topics, but, the CRL discussions are not locked down to "Member's Only" or anything, but are open to all registered forum accounts so that even non-members can participate in the discussion and refinement of the CRL.

Hm, at this point, the dog tries to catch its own tail. Anyways, I sent my confirmation request again (4th time by now). To know more than just that some kind of silk was used would be immensely helpful...is there no way to publish the most important aspects here?

Indeed, I would very much appretiate it, if it could quickly be published here, to, owing to how many of us have problems registering. Could someone do that please?

I mean, I guess I can copy the text of the current draft, keeping in mind it is just a draft and still in development, but that won't include all the references, images, and discussion that got it to that point.

Once again, keep in mind this the current DRAFT and if you have critics or suggestions on changes, you're going to have to sort out those account registration issues (I would recommend trying to contact the Bounty Hunter's Guild Social Media Pages) and post it there.

General Construction Notes

  • All components closely match the Boba Fett: MS2E6 Color Palette.
  • Armor is constructed from rigid materials such as polyurethane rubber, plastic, fiberglass or metal. Foam, cardboard or thin plastics (trashcan armor) are not approved.
  • Unlike the Original Trilogy pieces, the armor and gauntlets have a significant appearance of thickness and depth.
  • Helmet, armor and gauntlets all have the similar appearance of heavy acid erosion, damage and a noticeable grainy texture.
  • All damage/weathering closely matches the episode’s visual references for landmarks and other key details. Random damage/weathering is not approved.
Helmet

  • The helmet closely resembles the version seen in the series and is proportionate to the costumer.
  • The entire helmet's paint job has the appearance of being heavily eroded to expose a base of weathered steel and possesses the correct contrasting tones and grainy textures throughout.
  • The dome and lower cheek's base are a dark moss green color, with heavy acid erosion, exposing a steel base color.
  • The dome features the iconic dent but is noticeably smaller than the ROTJ Hero dent, in the left-front portion with a steel base color.
  • There are 2 “turn signals” details above the band in the front of the helmet that are noticeably smaller and farther apart from each other than what is seen in the ROTJ Hero version. The left-facing turn is painted red, and the right-facing turn is blue.
  • The mandibles and head band are a dark red/burgundy color with heavy acid erosion, exposing a steel base color surrounded by a dark gray layer.
  • The upper cheeks are a midnight blue and heavily eroded, exposing a steel base color.
  • Helmet has a dark colored "T" visor.
  • Facial features are not visible through the visor.

  • The helmet back panels are primarily a medium green in color, with heavy scraping exposing a steel base color.
  • The keyhole slot area on the back of the helmet is a steel base color.
    • The upper keyhole slots in the rear of the helmet have the appearance of a circuit board, resembling the OT MQ-1 calculator piece, mounted behind the openings. This detail may be cast into the helmet or mounted behind the cut-out openings in the slots.
    • A small, weathered, red cylinder is visible in each of the bottom two keyhole slots. The cylinders are not the same as the dental files seen on the ROTJ Hero helmet and do not protrude from the slots.
  • Helmet has a traditional rangefinder (RF) assembly on the right side.
    • The RF stalk is metallic in appearance.
    • The RF topper is black with 2 small red "lights" visible on the top.
