Alum Beacon & Stabilizer

i'm a little curious about installing the beacon and stabilizer on a MOW jet pack. the base of the beacon is not threaded very deep, so i'm guessing it's not supposed to come through from inside the jp. so should i drill a hole for feeding wires through from the inside then goop the base externally so i can easily remove the beacon by unscrewing it?

on the stabilizer side there's already an elevated section for the resin stab that comes with the kit. should i grind that down and drill a hole through so it can attach on the inside?
