96 Don Post helmet Question

Hello everyone. I've had this 96 DP helmet since I was a kid, and even back then I attempted to make it more authentic and fix the awful plastic T portion of the visor so ignore the paintjob. I haven touched it since I was 11 or 12, but lately I've gotten inspired by everyone on here to repaint and get a visor from t-visor.com. Few quick questions though before I invest lots of time an energy into a helmet that ultimately may have more trouble then it's worth...

1. I've read the 95 DP helmet is best, and the 97 is bad, but how does this one look? Is it warped and bad looking

2. I am 5'9, 165 lbs, is this helmet ok for me sizewise?

3.) If want to redo the the ear pieces for this helm, who would be the best person to get replacements for the stalk, rangefinder, etc?

4.) If ultimately this helmet is poor and not worth fixing up, would a Bobamaker or GMH helmet be best for someone of my stature?

It's not terrible, but certainly not near the accuracy of the GMH, FPH2 or other fan made helmets. I make my own helmet kits and could provide you with ear pieces if you'd like. Just PM me if you're at all interested.

The BM helmet is bigger then the GMH...and Yeh the GMH is probably closer in scale to your body. The question about the quality...I mean the visor could use work. But it really depends on how good you want it to be. You can make it presentable for sure...but it will require a bit of work. Depending on how much work you want to put in vs spend the $$ on a new helmet is what you need to figure out.

Thanks Fett 4 Real, the 'visor' was my 12 year old attempt at making it look more authentic which just involved me getting window tint film and cutting it to the t-visor shape lol, so needlessness to say it's awful almost 20 years later.

I'll keep everyone posted if I take the plunge to improve my DP helmet, or if I just get frustrated and pull the plug and spend $$ on a nice GMH helmet.
