Where to start

New Hunter
Hello there!

I'm new here (obviously) but I do have some ideas on where to start. My old roommate did a sweet ass Boba Costume, and for all of our disagreements one thing that I really respected about him was his attention. Almost obsessive attention to detail on his Boba costume. Anyways I'm looking to take the plunge, and potential ruin my marriage on a ROTJ Boba costume, or Special edition ( I believe thats what it is called.) Set up. I'm looking to start with the helmet first and decide if I really want to do this or if I just want a sweet ass helmet to wear around my house.

So if you guys could give me some pointers on where to start AKA get a helmet that would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

The absolute best advice is to read, read, read and read some more here on the forums. It is a wealth of knowledge and it will help you tons in your build.

Welcome to the forums.

Get yourself a good bucket kit, there are a few excellent vendors here in the forums. Take your time, get quality parts and do it right the first time. It will take time and patience. Educate yourself with the wealth of knowledge found here and ask questions if you get stuck. Good luck!

Read! Stalk the forums for pictures, tips and ideas. I only started because my kid wanted a Halloween costume, but now I want to do a real quality build. I agree with Armydad. Take your time! There are all kinds of options from entirely scratch made to buying parts. Either way read up before you take the plunge! Enjoy! I've found that folks are super helpful.

I just started as well. I created a sheet of all the parts I needed and continue to do a lot of reading. I have ordered a few quality parts, expect to be ordering in batches over the next year. Do not rush and take your time. This is the same process I took when building my Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper. The only reason that went faster was the cost compared to a quality Boba Fett.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I actually have been since I'm more helmet focused right now, I do have some paint experience, doing models and a Master Chief helmet. The Boba damage patterns work surprisingly well with a Master Chief helmet.

I should have been more clear and that was my fault, I was looking to buy a helmet. I have since seen who to talk to about it and have contacted one anyways. You guys are awesome and those are great suggestions.

Thanks
