JB Project/ FPH Helmet

WOW... I take the rest of the night off and look what happens ...

There really is nothing else I can say that hasn't already been said by Fettpride and Darthmiller that I completely agree with btw.:cheers....thanks guys.

I personally think some people are just of the tone of "sabatage" verses helping.(n)..BUT that should be left on another thread... maybe even another forum. ;)

Don't get me wrong, feedback is great... and maybe even warrented in this case...I appreciate all the positive feedback, even the "well constructed" negative ones.
But there is a difference between feedback, and not knowing what you're talking about...and I mean that in terms of the JB Project itself.

Here's exactly what I mean.... AOSW, SE, PRE PRO, are all terms we've come up with here on this board, and the meaning behind those terms.
And when I spoke with Jeremy, as I do once a week for updates...I asked if he understood the differences in the costumes......and his answer to me was YES.....YES for ESB vs. ROTJ only, that's it.;). Which means, as long as it has green Guantlets and a green pack, that's the version he wants...plain and simple.

I think FP said it best...in the end, not to sound like a self-centered j@erk, but I'M the one painting it.
and I think everyone that was chosen for the other items on this project, me included, are very capable of putting together the best of the best ESB costume ever.(y)..which is the reason we chose these other members, and is what our ultimate goal is.
Anyone who has been following the other threads would know that.

So based on PM's and how people have posted... I will now be doing a closer version to AOSW.......8)....per popular demand!!
The vote is in FOLKS, (not like it was ever up for one )...and AOSW wins.......minus the blue marker and crack on the side of the helmet is what I will be painting.

...and I will post more pics soon, to help get this thread back on track.(y)

Thanks everyone for your comments.(y)

Zombierepellent - you're way out of line.

I've for one, have really tried to be cool with you man. I really don't understand what YOUR problem is here? It's like, you're not even reading our posts.

Here it is, plain and simple man. And I'm sorry I have to say it this way, but you have sort of forced the issue.

#1 - Jeremy Bulloch IS NOT A CUSTOMER dude? What part of that are you not getting here ? He is being graciously "Given" a suit. $6000 worth. At no charge to him. Why is it that you are pressing that this is a matter of bad customer service or something?

#2 - you most likely received a PM about your comments, because it was our hopes (including the administration of TDH), to keep this thread, and all others associated with the JB Project - clean and "heckle free", for posterity. These threads were going to be presented "TO HIM" with his suit in the form of a "Year Book", chronicling the build up of his suit . So you were being asked, not to convolute the thread, and stay "On-Topic". Which is a show off thread - NOT A DEBATE.

#3 - You, are not the one, who is putting the work into this, nor having to make the MANY decisions associated with every grueling step of this process / project. It's not as easy as you think. We're trying to put together a museum quality suit, that some take years to assemble (myself included) in a matter of 3 months, on top of our REAL work, and REAL life.

I for one, would really appreciate YOU having a little more understanding, and refrain from "calling people out" on things that you really have no control over anyway.

You know good and well that he PM'd you. If you've got a PM from him, He PM'd you  That was an asinine thing to post. It's statements like this that send up all the little red flags, and sounds the bells and whistles, that you're "TRYING" to be a troublemaker for whatever the reason. You're making yourself look really bad now. I'm not sure what your ulterior motive is, but statements like you're making in light of the "charity" of this project, is bound to spark a nasty argument, and / or flame war, and I think you know that. If you don't think it's being done right, that is your opinion. And YOUR opinion only. You've made it clear that you don't agree. You should have left it at that.

Again, I'm sorry to sound this way, but your acting like you "don't get it" just isn't doing it for me anymore. I would have sent you a PM myself, but I see you're trying to cause trouble by making private matters public. "Outting" Darthmiller for his efforts to "diffuse" a possible flame war using the PM system, is in serious bad form. This is what the administration urges us to do. So here it is, for all to see (y)

Thanks

FP

Once I found out it was being given I stopped referring him to a "customer" then went on to say that since JB asked for and ESB style costume it should be made as close to ESB as possible. I only took on the defense when being asked to edit my opinion on a public forum because it didn't make you guys look like you know everything. I never said that I had any control of something what so ever, if I did have control over it, I would've done stricly what was asked to be done in the first place. I haven't done anything wrong, opinions were asked so I gave one. If all you guys want is praise then you should change the title to
"JB FPH Progress thread, Praise only"

The helmet looks amazing Alex, I'm blown away!!!!!!! (y)

Gang, I think everyone just needs to relax a little bit here. If criticism is asked for then it should be expected. However, if you are the one giving criticism, be very careful in your wording as a lot gets lost when you are simply typing words and people can easily get defensive and put their guard up. Be sure you are being "constructive" and not just "critical" in your criticism.

As for editing posts, there is no need. Eventually when you want to print this off, I can move whatever posts need to be moved out of the thread and it can then be printed. It's not a problem and people do not need to be asked to edit their posts :)

Once again, the lady saves the day...(y) thank you Kristen.(y)

ALex - With the helmet nearing completion have you given any thought to the addition of padding to the inside for a perfect fit? Or is this something that will have to be done on site once its in the hands of JB? I ask because I was curious if there is a right way or wrong way to pad the helmet and maintain movie accuracy.

Cheers,
~Kevin

Another question, will it have the Chinstrap?

DSC_0023-1.jpg

Sure looks like it. It is after all a FPH kit :cheers(y)

the paint app looks amazing! great job!... this debate is a matter of personal pref. You made a wise decsion. Also look at the reference material people there inst a awhole lot of close of detailed shots of ESB.

Plus this paint app looks awsome as is.

:)Hey Kevin...

We have plans to do an MR finish inside....with moderate padding....just something nice and professional looking.(y)...and Yes, the Chin Strap is going in... that's what Jeremy knows.(y)
He will also have a switch inside of his helmet to turn off and on his RF lights.... but nothing major, or even close to accurate.
Batninja has already come up with a Design for it...(y)
