I see posts referencing Evilboys fans but can't find a listing in the cargo hold. Where can I get them and is there anything better?

Evilboy is a 501st member, so youd have to check the legion boards.

I have made a few fan set ups and would be happy to do one for you. I use a rechargeable 12V battery and 2 small (2") squirrel fans with an on/off switch. the 12V battery makes the fans run at the full 12Volts so they work as they were meant to and ive had it run for 5hrs with little to no power loss. It would come with the charger to plug into the wall to recharge the battery. i have one in my Fett helmet with no space issues :) Id do it for $45 shipped to ya if your interested.. Otherwise you should be able to find the evilboy ones on the Legion forums :)

What kind of battery are you using? I've been wanting to upgrade my 9V + 2xAAs 12V setup due to space and weight issues in the helmet. Looking for a small lightweight option that can run 6+ hours constant.

Im new, lol dont even have my bucket yet. But if your still making them ill take one some day!

haha well i dont really make them for folks ..i just made some for me and i know 01Hawk and wanted to help out, but def hit me up when the time comes, i may still be willing to make one every now and then. Its a nice relaxing thing to do for a short break of the usual casting and painting stuff. :)

Yea I have the evil boy setup, the only advantage you might have with the evil boy over Darth's is evil boys fans might be more quite. I imagine Darth's fan run at 6 V (2 fans split) versus evil boy's 3 V (again 2 fans split). Straight out of the box you can expect evil boy's fans to last about 3 to 3.5 hours. I added a ton of capacity by adding another 4 AA battery pack wired in parallel (you can get another box for 2$). Since I've done this my fans last easily 7+ hours which makes things a lot easier for me. I have plenty of space in my bucket for the spare battery set since I have plenty of space in my Animefan helmet.

Mine are actually pretty quiet. just a subtle humm. And they are set up to run 12V each so they are at full power. I actually looked it up when i did it because i was looking for a way to get the fans to run at full power, and wanted to be sure i was doing it correctly. Fans actually tend to be more noisy when they are NOT running at full power.

If Evilboys uses 6V's of power, then the fans are running on 6 volts each, not 3 on each. Electronics dont work quite like that. Plus i doubt the fans would move much on 3v each.

All that said, i am not knocking Evilboys set ups. He is a friend of mine, and lots of folks use his fans. I was just capable of making my own and wanted to take it a step further. As a matter of a fact i may even tell him about the 12V battery im using.

just want to throw in my 2 cents. ive used evilboy's fans in my TK buckets for a couple years. 3.5-4hrs sounds right running on 4 AA rechargeables. the battery pack adds a little weight but can be an advantage in balancing out the helmet on your head. the wires are long enough to change locations inside with stickyback velcro. not sure where youd mount them in a fett bucket as im still sculpting mine but the fans are quiet, push plenty of air around, and ive never had problems with them. you can find the ongoing sale thread on whitearmor.

Yea I am actually designing and testing out with a few garrison mates a specific fan set version designed expressly for Boba Fett and Mando needs. I started on one to meet some special needs I have for my Greedo outfit which I am in the process of getting approved right now.

Just imagine for a moment having one rechargeable, hot-swapable battery that powers not only your helmet fans but other devices like JC27's servo kit, Salamander's Kit, and Fettronics chest lights. Think of all that battery space it frees up in your bucket if you run a simple power cord from your chest to your head (space = increased airflow = AHHHHHHHHH cooollller). If things go well with the select testers I will probably do limited batches that are fully customizable for every Fett need out there. Also think of all the batteries you won't have to constantly retest to make sure they will last through the next troop. My setup will eliminate for me the testing/recharging of 16 AA batteries alone.

Current problems with what's out there now.

1) I want more fans lol. I could easily power 4 fans with this setup AND have more space in my bucket. I plan to have two fans blowing downward in the front of my helmet (at the top) which will constantly cool my face and have two fans at the bottom back blow air up into the bucket (creating an awesome circulation system).

2) I want all my devices to be powered by my system (with 4 fans) for 12+ continuous hours. No worrying while on weekend con troops or two day event weekends about recharging my fan batteries overnight between events. My new system will have enough power to last through BOTH full day events with ease.

3) I want a battery system that is designed to be hot-swappable...so I could easily use the same battery system with different fan configurations between multiple outfits I have. That means I could permanently mount the fans IN helmet/masks which is such a pain to remove and use between helmets/masks. I could also have a spare battery in case one dies...swapping it out in seconds even when fully suited up in my Fett without taking my bucket off and breaking character.

Other problems some Fett users have.

1) Some people with Helmets literally have NO space to put the battery case in their helmet. My setup would allow ULTRA low fans (only 10 mm high) blow air at least up into the helmet from the base. SOME airflow is better in the summer than no airflow. It makes a HUGE difference.

If things work out testing from fellow fett heads I tapped I hope to start maybe selling these in a month or two...probably first to my garrison mates and merc clan members then finally here.

Sounds pretty neat man. ....and my battery and fans are also hot-swappable. Didnt think it was a big deal, but maybe it is lol.

I was swapping my kit from one helmet to another until i made separate ones for each of my suits. My issue with swapping them from one costume to another is i sometimes would forget to do it in my rush out the door for a morning troop lol. But, i can see the value it in for sure. Mine is fully removable so you can charge the battery pack while its out of your helmet. Its also made so you can swap the type of fan easily..from Squirrel fans to basic forward blowing fans. I can also make it so it runs 4 fans, still all at the 12v power..but it would likely decrease the longevity of it..i think...id have to see if it makes any significant difference. That said, i think 4 fans is overkill...for me anyway. 2 fans running at their full 12V power work excellent for me, i dont need to take up more real estate in my helmet with more fans lol.

Also not sure why you'd want the chest lights running on the same battery. The chest lights are in a different location. Why would you run a wire from the helmet to those in the chest?
