Ok you obssessed color matchers! What are the CLOSEST colors I can buy to match the myriad of colors on the ROTJ jet pack?

Do you want the colors that Lee listed with his helmet colors or something close?

Well, the exact colors would be nice. It'd also be nice to have alternatives in case I can't find those. ;)

Colour is a very difficult thing to pinpoint. all printed material / photographs / computer monitors of any colour will appear different when printed or displayed. You need to get a reference photo your happy with and take it with you to a paint shop. Be sure you get the right kind of paint though, matt / gloss, acrylic / oil based... I work with colour everyday and it is a science in itself.

We now know the colors that were used on the helmets. I'm betting that someone here might know what colors were used on the packs, and whether or not they were Polly-S paints.

Anyone have an idea?

TK409's site has got a ROTJ suggestion using common sprays - not too sure how close it is to original - as far as the ESB pack I remember seeing that list somewhere...
I deal w/ color alot & Bobamaker's right - a flattening agent sprayed overtop can dramatically change a gloss / semi color & so on...

Good Luck!

Hey Fetts,

I need your help! I just got my ESB jet pack and the colors are terrible. I've heard that I should use Olive Panzer Green. I need to find out what maroon + silver paints everyone used as well? The most important question, where do I get these paints? I need them as fast as possible, since I have an event in June. Please help me out!

Is it AdCon in Knoxville? I'm going as ESB (hopefully)...I'm currently working on my pack now.

The green I used was American Accents - Moss Green. I also used this same color as the base on the rest of my armor and gauntlets.

I have a dark burgandy that I am going to use as the "red", and overspray it lightly with some real red and black.

Silver? I think I'm using Krylon Bright Metallic, if I'm not mistaken.

All of these can be picked up at Walley World - except for the Moss Green. The lady at the store said they had dropped this particular color due to lack of sales. I'm scrambling to find some now.

Hope this helps.

Now that MB's last order of jet packs seem to be arriving I just wanted to remind everyone that I paint them in any scheme with the colors believed to be movie accurate. PM for details.

Well, since I couldn't find anyone to verify where I could get the Panzer Olive Green, I went to my local Home Depot and found a spray paint by American Accents called Sage Green. It looks awesome! :D

"Panzer Olive Green" is a Polly scale floquil brand paint. It can be purchased directly from www.testors.com the testors item number is F505113 and can be found by entering this number into their search engine.

I will be using this for my jet pack as well and the piano keys look like a possible "Boxcar red" but I'll have to do some comparing to ref. pics first. The keys might be the same red as the scratches on the left ear also.......not sure yet since I'm still finishing up my armor.

Hope that helps, better late than never ;)

I used the Model Masters POG 1943. I think someone on the helmet thread said it is a little darker than the Floquil. I'm trying to find someone here in town that has the floquil so I can compare.

Here's SEEKER's suggestions:
http://www.r2ro.com/images/newjangojet packcolors.jpg

I painted mine with common Walmart or hardware store paint colors. I had to do as Arturo did and mist another color on top of a color to get the right hue. To get an idea of how photos can't always be trusted, see photo below, Left: my jet pack indoors with a flash, before weathering. Right: Same pack outdoors, no flash, with weathering.
