OK, I'm in a flat spin and a major panic now!
Wes/Scott, you'll recall my recent mails and PM's on this, trying to get info on whether mine are in the 1st seven etc. and my reasons for wanting/needing to know.
Well. the reason just got a whole lot more urgent!
Over here in the UK, we have an event called Memorabilia (known as Mem). It is our version of Dragon con and is without a shadow of doubt, THE biggest Sci Fi convention in the UK.
Mem happens on 29 & 30 of November and as you are both aware from my recent PM's/mails, I have been aiming for this particular event all year.
We are slightly different over here, in that people don't tend to attend these events in costume, unless they are part of the UK Garrison of the 501st. In order to wear the costume, I have to put my name on the sign up list (only 1 Boba allowed for each day). In order to put my name on the sign up list, I have to be a 501st UK Garrison member. In order to be a UKG member, I have to have my costume approved. In order to have my costume approved I have to have it finished so I can take photo's and send for approval (this approval process can take up to a couple of weeks, sometimes longer). The only thing I'm waiting on for the main costume is the boots.
The extra panic has come from the fact that I thought I had another week before the sign up list went up, but it went up yesterday!
I have sent mails to both of you, but one reply told me to speak to the other guy, and the other guy said " we're getting them done as soon as we can". Neither of which really answered my specific question of whether mine were in the 7 pairs apparently ready to ship.
I appreciate the work done so far, and I also appreciate the fact that the delay in manufacture was out of anyone's control (down to emergency surgery).
I'm not bashing, but I need to know a specific answer to a specific question. I need your help to go to the one event I have been building this whole costume for. Am I going to make it, or should I get ready for the disappointment now.
A while back you (Wes) were kind enough to ask if anyone was in a hurry, getting ready for D.con, etc and you would try to push their orders through. Robert (DV1) was, and his order was pushed to the top of the pile of 40 or so, in commendable fashion, and due to some great teamwork, Robert got his boots and was able to go, for which I was really pleased for him.
My situation now is currently identical to what Robert's was then (although I haven't yet started getting the shotgun out as mentioned by DV1 back then (
).
I would dearly love to go to Mem as Boba, but I can't sign up and therefore can't go as Boba unless I get the boots within the next 7 days or so, realistically. After that, I may have an outside chance, but the odds get smaller with each passing hour.
If it's impossible to get the boots to me, I'd rather know now and get the disappointment over with, rather than mug the postman every day, as I have been doing for the last few weeks, and searching him for boots!
Not knowing is worse than being told it's a no go! And being told "we're going as fast as we can" is the same as not knowing. I assume that you'll be going as fast as you can anyway, from previous info given in this thread.
So, to re-cap. We have been told that there are 7 pairs ready to go. I *think* I was one of the first few to pay, so I *think* I have a chance of being in that 7. Please confirm if that is the case or whether my need, which has now become urgent, can be met from those 7 pairs. If there is a difficulty in telling who's those 7 are, LMK if I can help clarify in any way.
If it helps, I can put my own spikes on!
For clarification, I DO need these to be shipped airmail!

. I'm just panicking about whether I can make Mem, and trying to get specific answers to the specific questions I am asking.
If it's a "no", then so be it, I'll stop staying up until the wee small hours every night and sacrificing weekends with my family, trying to get the rest of the costume finished, and put it away until the next Mem.
A posted, PM'ed, or Mailed response would be most gratefully appreciated.
