Gav just sent me some pics of both faceplate and dome together!! Sorry for the pics, the good light had gone by the time he'd gotten it trimmed and assembled for the pics. I lightened them up a touch though.
It's looking superb now!! Can't wait to see it with the greebs and visor installed!
Gav reports the face and dome fit together really well which makes assembly very simple. You can see the small dimples either side of the "mouth"? Those are locators so you know where to drill and fit your aerators! Then the three grill strips fit in the three slots after you fit your cowl!
Speaking of which, I've bought the material for the cowl and will be fitting it as soon as the face plate gets to me.
Wow!! that looks great! Awesome Job Skip! Fantastic Mojo!!! Top notch! It's funny how first people started building models of handmade things in 3D, now we're hand-making models of 3D pieces!
Thanks very much mate. I need to make some small tweaks to the cowl then I'll be sending it back to Gav for paint. He should have the aerators sorted by the end of the day tomorrow which is fantastic!
Here is the new aliminium master for the aerator! Massively improved and resized to fit the lid. The other was too small and we later found it to be inaccurate too.
This master will have a silicone bath twice over and we'll have all we need for this kit to finally become a reality. Hope you guys like it.
The price again is $190 plus shipping per kit, you'll get the face plate, dome, 2xaerators and the three small parts for the mouth vent. The general word was that people would be happy to suply their own cowl material so that's not included nor is visor material. Though I do have vinyl here so if some people want a cowl it can be done until my vinyl runs out. PM me for info.
Please post here if you're interested or want to order yours now so we can build a new list of interested folks.
