Very true..there was a little repetitiveness, and also some parts bored me a little bit (the ones not involving Fett lol) ..but over all i love the story.

Im not much of a reader so i dont have any recommendations..i was surprised i read all 3 of those books lol

According to Lucas himself Boba survives the sarlaac so even without EU I think it's canon. Plus Disney revived Darth Maul because he was so popular, I don't think they are going to throw away Boba. However he is getting his own stand alone. And hopefully maybe we will see him I either Rogue One or the Han Solo stand alone.
