Working with Resin question

I just purchased resin Westar 34's, unassembled. My questions are:

1. Should I paint then glue? Or should I glue first, then paint?

2. What glue would you recommend I use?

This is my very first time working with resin.

You sand, prep, glue, cleanup then paint.

Glue wont stick if you paint first. The paint will peel off where you glue, and it will come apart.

Take your time. Clean everything up, glue it together, Fill/paint/cleanup and lightsly sand it EVERYWHERE (if you watn a metal texture you should use a really fine wet sand paper) then paint.

Hey Tom! Stormrider knows what he's talkin about, that would be my advise exactly!

Superglue, or CA glue as alot of us call it, should hold. Make sure you sand both surfaces first to give it something to grab and it should be good. Ive put together E-11's (reisn parts on a PVC pipe) with superglue and didnt have any issues. Of course i also added screws where i could (i resessed them and filled the holes)for extra durability as well. The parts where i couldnt do that seem to hold up fine, so id say yes, it will work.

Yeah, definitely sand the areas first.

I have made the mistake before of trying to clue smooth areas. It's holds but will not "hold" if you apply pressure.

Try using different types as well, the gel works well, I have found.
