How did you make the pressure pot ? I've been wanting to do this !

Give me a few days and I will post something. Just also cast the lens. Wow, there is only 2 small air bubbles in it.

I knew that would work for ya;-)
I'm a dental tech by trade and i work with different resins and dental acrylics all day and a pressure pot is the key to an excellent casting.
They look awesome!

Can you tell me roughly how much these weigh.
I'm researching a lightwewight rangefinder 'cos my stalk is cardboard. I was originally just going to have a shell but it would be nice to have the clear part and everything else in there.

With all 3 parts, they weigh about 1.8 oz.

Hey asok!

Got my parts yesterday! WOW - just WOW!

Beautiful casts! At some stage I must post about the first ever cast part I bought, an E11 Blastech and what a POS it was... set me up for thinking all casts required major surgery - how wrong I was!

Absolutely beautiful RF (and MQ1) - worth twice what your charging! AND I dont know how you got it from the states to ireland so fast!

If your EVER doing any other parts Im in Great work!

^^If you have a hobby shop near your house you can buy small square aluminum tubing for about a buck for 10 inches of it. It works great as a cheap way to make a hollow, aluminum centered range finder stalk. I used an alum and 2 brass on my first one. And although its not great, it suffices.

Happy you like them. I have gotten stuff that needed so much filler it was crazy. When I make something, I make it for me and my standards. Then just hope others like it as well. The only item I do not like about the pressure pot is that is can be extra flashing.

Other parts, well, I did the ROTJ baster and MQ-1 parts. Again, I will need them for my blaster and just hope others can use them as well.

Not sure what I am doing next.

What were you using for your initial model? It looks like cardboard and resin, but not sure. I've been working on another project (the concussion grenade launcher) with foam board and I was looking for alternative materials due to the fact I would have to coat everything before casting.
