You've landed some great images there, they seem to wear a mix of post imperial armour with touchs of the heavy mandalorian.
I built a kit based on no 3 but uparmoured to fit mercs crls

You are totally right! This new season will be a real treat! I noticed that some designs are part of Season 1's art. For instance, this shot from the trailer features 2 Mandalorians (#3 and 6B) we have seen before in the art (and the Lego set, t-shirts, etc.), though the jag eyes are missing on the orange helmet:

These ones look like new designs. One looks a bit like Sabine in the color scheme and the second image might be Kryze followers rather than Covert Mandalorians.

That shoulder in the first pic looks almost exactly like a Shoretrooper shoulder. Not sure what that implies but just found it interesting.

Good spotting. It probably is a reference to Mando's own shore trooper parts in the first episodes. Maybe a group of Mando coverts got in a fight with Shoretroopers before the series starts and looted parts.

Here are shots from today's episode (s3ep3), if anyone needs a reference. There were some good shots on the armors, although most of the episode was particularly dull in my humble opinion. I count 17 Mandalorians in that last picture, but it's not the whole covert tribe, as there were more in the first episode.

Some of it might be by design, as they are scattered remains that don't have all that much beskar and limited smithing facilities, but you are right. Disney always puts quantity before quality, so take it as a metaphor .
