Strands to a girth belt.

Just a quickie. On with my scratch built girth, dyed nicely. How many strands for a ROTJ belt, I have 14 in my head, but I don't know why. Anyone clear this up for me?

sounds about right mate, the belts I did on my last run were all 14 strand but these were bought from a horse tackle shop so i think 14 is the standard. hope this helps.
