ROTJ EE-3 weathering

I am working on the blaster factory ROTJ EE-3, looking for ideas for the weathering. i saw the original picture of the EE-3 and it's to ugly, i would like for it to look realist and movie like, but not at all cost. the Blaster factory EE-3 looks awesome and i don't want it to look bad.
