I agree - this is a ton of good information, and started me on the road to researching a lot more, and really starting to get an idea of the wealth of information available here on TDH. The to-do list for my first build is finally starting to come together, and I'll be diving into it for real pretty soon...so thank you all for the initial advice, and thank you in advance for all the help that I know is yet to come!
