Pulse Rifle

New Hunter
I am, as many of you, making the Rifle from scratch. I am making the butt stock from wood, and 3D printing a good amount of the rest of it, while including some aluminum for the barrel. I found basically all the reference photos I can find, thanks for those who uploaded the high quality D23 photos! I got my scale pretty much down, at least for the length. Now where I am at is trying to determine the thickness. I am starting with the stock and gonna model my pieces off of this section by section. So I am currently modeling the receiver, but need the width of the stock, at least for that joining part since I know it does taper a bit from front to back. For those who have already done so, what is a good approach for scaling the thickness of the stock? Or maybe a lead to real historic rifles which may have been used to make this weapon.

Thanks!

Good luck, will be watching your progress, sounds like we have the same goals on this.

Feel free to follow my FB page. I am trying to get my social media set up a bit better. But for now this is pretty much where my progress is posted. I am also making YouTube videos as well for the build I will be uploading in parts. Trying to get more up on my channel.

Solid work friend. I look forward to seeing more of your setup. What kind of 3D printer is that? I’ve wanted to print some of my Zbrush statues that I’ve sculpted. Looks like it can handle a bigger workload. How long does the stock take to print?

I recently got the Creality CR-10S. So I am still new to it, but learning a lot at an insane pace. The print space is fairly large which is a big selling factor for this printer, not to mention on the cheaper end for printers. (300*300*400 mm (11.8" x 11.8" x 15.8")). I am still building up my print station which is exciting. I studied a bit of 3d modeling for a few years in Maya, so it is translating pretty well with Fusion 360 for my modeling for this rifle. Taking my time of course though. And I actually am making the stock from wood, I will only be printing some parts of the rifle. Combining different build methods.
