*Official* GET YOUR TDH BADGE HERE!!!

Well kiddies... a few of you have asked for a TDH badge... but with my busy schedule - i have NOT been able to fulfill the requests... also - because of the lower number of people wanting them, as compared to last time - it would not be cost efficient for me to do small runs of them... so, my solution... put the original artwork up for anyone to download and make their own badge.

i don't normally like doing this... 'cause i like to have quality control over all items w/ the TDH name on it... but i'll make an exception this time ;)

anyway... i went to look for the original file - but could not find it anymore... so... i had to completely redo it from scratch... but, fortunately, i had many of the images around still...

oh enough blabbing - and get to the file already....

OK... here they are:

the front: http://zam-wesell.com/tdh/tdhbadge.ai

the back: http://zam-wesell.com/tdh/tdhbadgeback.ai

they're Illustrator 8.0 files. I have outlined all the fonts except the font where you add your name, screen name and city. This is just a basic helvetica black... if you don't have that font... any heavy font will work.

the avatar picture i put on the file can easily be replaced by clicking on it - then going to your "links" palate and hitting "replace link".

the final trim size is 3"x5".

oh.. if you don't have Illustrator... you can also open it up in Photoshop. You'll just have to "erase" the text and add your own.

If you don't have either of these programs or don't have ANY idea how to do any of this... let me or someone else who knows know and we'll try to help ya.

Thanks for posting these, DCB!

For those without Adobe Illustrator, go to www.jasc.com, and download the free trail version of Illustrator 10. It will stay on your computer for 30 days. Took me about 20 minutes to download and install (work computer).

Off the record, I thought we were using Blastech's water color design? Or did I miss something?

yes... you missed something... it's been explained a 100 times... but i'll explain it for the 101st time now ;)

Blastechs design is a GENERIC badge to hand to NON-TDH people...

mine is for TDH members and is personalized for YOU.

i haven't had time to noodle w/ blastechs badge... perhaps he can do it and upload it to my server for all to print out..

Very cool! Thanks Dallas! :D :D I will wear it to D*C with pride!

Don't mean to nitpick... okay.... I DO mean to nitpick.. but Illustrator is by Adobe not Jasc. Adobe also offers a free trial version, good for 30 days I believe (Most of their products have trial software available). You can download Illustrator here: http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator/main.html# .

Very cool!

Is there a reason why the little Zam graphic is filled in black, while the others are grey?

I know they didn't make it. But I always go to Jasc's site whenever I need a graphics progam. After I didn't see it at the jasc site, I searched Google for "Illustrator download" and found the Adobe site.

So my first post is incorrect. Don't go the http://www.jasc.com. Search Google. :) Thanks for the correction, MM!

Thanks! This is better than I though. It's a shame that I made my own already (basically the same one) ;)

No biggie... I just didn't want anyone not familiar with the programs to get confused. If in doubt... Google! :D :D

For some reason I had a difficult time downloading the files. I have Illustrator 8.0 and Photoshop 7.0.

The file extension changed from .ai to .ps when I was downloading it. It opened in Illustrator and immediately closed. I had to click on "Open Recent" to actually find it and open it again. Once I did that, I was able to "Save As" and rename the file .ai. It was really strange.

Regardless, thank you Dallas for the file!

I just grabbed the picture that was posted awhile back and photoshopped it. ;) It's actually bigger in pixel size, so when it's reduced to 3x5, it looks better, IMO (higher resolution).

That's what I did. Reduce the size to a 3 X 5 and it looks way better, besides of "space saving" matters. No one wants to carry a BIG sign hanging from your neck in a convention....do you??? :D

I've lost track of the number of badges I'll be wearing at DragonCon this year. Every group I belong to has one, and I don't know a way to effectively display them ALL at the same time (without looking like a freakish walking billboard), so they all go on my lanyard! ;)
