New PP2 Helmet Acquisition ...

The helmet I purchased is indeed hand slushed urethane. And THICK. Meaning SEVERAL layers. Making it unwearable. Based on what you have to say about it, the only logical conclusion is that mine IS the one that Paul remolded that spawned the 12 clean castings. So thank you for confirming that!

Sounds like you are right on the money, then. That is certainly a cool piece of the PP2 lineage to own.

Here are the pictures of the helmet as promised. It clearly shows the interior is slush urethane resin. Which ironically,
Paul Francis confirmed he made two this way on the 'other' forum today. Though he swears mine is fiberglass
in the very same statement.

And one showing it's the interior of the same PP2 MF casting

Well guys, have decided its way too much drama involved. I decided to let it go. I've got way too much going on to deal with that. Otherwise I wouldn't care who I miffed off.

Probably the wrong place for this link but at least it's all here in one place.

Obviously, if anyone here wants it, the BIN is more or less a let's see if there are any takers. Gino kind of set that bar. But as unrealistic as it is, TDH takes precedence.

Yes it certainly did. Though I'm not exactly sure the fun and games will end with the sale. The buyer, is from some 40-50 miles away from the owner of the plaster plug master this came from. I suspect it's some plan to try to discredit me, or call me a recaster or something. To me that's a big coincidence. But we'll see I suppose. Maybe I'm wrong. That's a lot of money to invest to try and keep a feud alive.

This little circus is quite upsetting. A third of the story here, a third of it there. The last third a complete mystery.

To those of us who are simply Fett fans and desire the most accurate pieces possible, with all of the warring taking place lately, it's hard to know what to believe or who to trust, and it definitely leaves a sour taste in some of our mouths.

I was SUPER fired up about this lid (RotJ for life!!!!).

I completely understand Rubio95. It does suck.

Some feel I knew what I was getting into by posting my acquisition publicly, and feel it serves me right. And really, I did know. Though I hoped that maybe I'd be wrong and that a decade old fire had long since been extinguished. I was wrong. I've been wrong before.

I'm not able to discuss the details here because there is a standing rule against discussing the other board involved.

But what's important to take from this thread is that I did in fact attempt to make this as above board as anyone could. So there is nothing to be accused of hiding in the future. That, and what the helmet turned out to be was validated here for all to see. And will remain here for years to come. I've done absolutely nothing wrong. Whatever trust issue you may or may not have with me could really only be a product of what you, and others may be hearing, or reading on the other forum in question. And there's little I can do about that but continue to be as open and above board as I can be, here and now. Again, I've done nothing wrong. I acquired a helmet casting. I discovered it was more than I thought it was. I suspected it was what it turned out to be, an was validated. So I sold off the headache.

Sorry guys

Your probably better off man...lots of stress with this bucket. I still feel bad i ever mentioned i saw it. i could have saved alot of people some stress if i kept my trap shut! lol

On the same token, it was cool to see this helmet without the paint on it, and see how nice it could actually look :)

For the record, Voorhees, you're being waaay too hard on yourself, homie.

You tried to do a good thing for the community. Ease up on yourself, brother. Seriously.

Now that the lid is gone to another person, lets put this whole thing behind us.

Well, there are definitely better things to look forward to. Especially in the next few days :)

Lou, you know we're good man. I don't hold you responsible for anything. You are being too hard on yourself indeed. I'm a big boy brother and know what I'm doing ;)

ok, can we just say the we agree to disagree? I just don't get all of the fuss over a helmet. I mean really, there are more important things to get worked up about. I think Tina Fey's character from Megeamind sums it up best "girls, your both pretty, can we go home now." Now i'm not saying that that Chris and Lee are both girls, just that we should all just move on and have fun making cool stuff.

Meh, y'know what Chris - if a couple of 'entitled' people are gonna get so precious about this, getting rid of the thing is probably the best thing you've done. Unreal that it still happens, particularly when to me it seems you have handled yourself great from the very first moment of acqusition, but likely a good headache avoided that I doubt you need..
