New CC Jango knee armor

I got the knee armor today... Wow! They are beautiful. I have decided that all of my armor is going to be CC from now on. I'm in awe of these. :D

Very cool.
I hadn't realized they weren't tapped for bolt on application.
I'll probably be drilling mine out and tapping them for a more secure installation.(y)

For more security you can add an aluminium piece, as you did with your JD knees ;)

Received my CC knees last night! They are BEAUTIFUL! Dark-Side truly is a master craftsman... the CC looks amazing and the FG-castings are flawless. I couldn't be happier w/ the pieces - it really shows that Dark-Side is taking great pride in offering only the best to his fellow Jango enthusiasts...

A shout-out to Cruzer also for taking care of receiving the order from Italy and then splitting it up and sending it to each of the guys here in the USA... and as if that's not enough of a pain in the rear... Cruzer even paid the domestic postage out of his own pocket... thanks so much, man!

Dealing w/ either Dark-Side or Cruzer always turns out to be a great experience... way above the rest/average... I wish, there were more people like those two in this hobby.

Now - I've only gotta find some time to glue those knees together... and take some photographs...

Cheers - marcus

Amen!! (y)

Actually, Dark-Side already had them separated, wrapped, marked, etc.
I just threw them in boxes with some rocks and sharp pieces of metal and sent them off!:D
U.S. Customs did seem to give up from tearing them all apart after one set though.:rolleyes

I use my Oooooold topic to post the tutorial

This is the kit buffed

Use steel wool 000 and after the 0000

Now you need a Dremel with this tool

If you don't have a dremel or similar, you can use a small rasp

Great guide. What glue do you recommend for the strongest hold? I had an issue with the right knee snapping at the glued joint because it was right on my knee. Also, do you know of any way to make one a bit wider, like with spacers or something

This is what I use:
Amazon.com: Maxi-Cure Extra Thick Glue, 1 oz.: Home Improvement
Amazon.com: Bob Smith 151 Insta-Set 2oz Accelerator: Home Improvement

Amazing stuff.

I have big legs myself, so I was worried about kneeling and them breaking or cracking. With Dark Side's, I haven't had that issue yet. If they were constantly cracking or whatever, I'd take a heat gun to either side and bend it out a bit more.

Just my two cents.

well, I recommend to use cyanoacrylate glue, any brand.
Do not use epoxy glue. It's not the best because the knee are in polyester resin.

About make them wider, you can use this fast tutorial(for both sides):

I suggest you use the second method just because you use the glue only one time.
Btw, when you add the straps, don't glued them on the lateral pieces. Just glue them on the frontal piece.

So, I know the real knee armor are just in 1 piece, but I also saw they were cracked.
In my knee, at the most you can break them where there is the glue. But you can always use the glue again and they are fixed without any evident crack.
